  1. Postpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

Simon Mignolet again has to be alert to come off his line and punch a cross away, the Liverpool keeper looks back to his best.

  2. Postpublished at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

Bolton are playing a high line and they are playing a dangerous game. Raheem Sterling is in over the top but he's called back for an incorrect offside flag. Liverpool then have further reason for complaint when Dorian Dervite trips Sterling but nothing is given.

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on BBC One

"Zach Clough has had to do so much defensive work picking up Steven Gerrard and Joe Allen that when the ball has come to him he's been really disappointing on it."

  4. Postpublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

Eidur Gudjohnsen rolls back the years with a classy turn in the centre circle to lose two men but his team-mates lose the ball. Can Bolton score tonight? I'm not convinced.

"Brilliant turn and ball from Philippe Coutinho with the outside of his boot. He is really playing well. He spins away from the Bolton challenges so easily. The only way they can stop him is by fouling him."

Borussia Dortmund are in action tonight and it is not good news for the struggling German side. As this despondent tweet from the club's official Twitter account tells you, they are losing 1-0 at home to Augsburg. However the visitors have just gone down to 10 men.

  7. Postpublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on BBC One

"Matt Mills has been really lively up front. Every time the ball has come up to him he's caused problems for Martin Skrtel."

  8. Postpublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

Decent try from the stand-in forward Matt Mills as he thumps a shot down the throat of Simon Mignolet from 20 yards. Good connection but too close to the keeper.

Bolton are eight minutes away from half-time.

  9. Postpublished at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on BBC One

"Brilliant defending from David Wheater. He just stayed on his feet, he didn't dive in or commit himself. Philippe Coutinho had done everything right, danced past three players, but Raheem Sterling had a free shot if he'd squared it."

Patrick Zagar: I think Phil Coutinho successfully dribbles past about 8,564 people a game with ease.

Mary Clarke: I want another FA Cup upset tonight. Come on Bolton!

LFC Way: There's a real confidence about Simon Mignolet now! Pleasing to see.

  11. Postpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty at Macron Stadium

"Bolton manager Neil Lennon will be reasonably satisfied with the opening half-hour - although Raheem Sterling came so close with that shot against the post. The Championship side look like they might get some joy against Liverpool in the air at set pieces but Liverpool have also got such pace on the break that Bolton simply cannot over-commit."

  12. Postpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

Daniel Sturridge gets a warm reception from both fans as he warms up, the natives recall his fine loan spell here a few years back.

David Wheater then continues his fine start with a Bobby Moore-esque challenge to cut Philippe Coutinho's mazy run off.

  13. Postpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on BBC One

"They worked it really well from the left-hand side. It was such an intelligent turn from Adam Lallana and Dorian Dervite just stood too far off Raheem Sterling. The keeper was beaten."

  14. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

Lovely play! Raheem Sterling gets the ball to feet inside the area, Bolton defender Dorian Dervite stands off, too far as it turns out. There doesn't appear to be too much danger but Sterling bends a shot around Dervite, with no backlift, and the ball cannons off the outside of the post.

    Very unlucky.

BBC Radio 5 live's Kevin Kilbane

"Emre Can is so comfortable on the ball. He sets up most of Liverpool's attacks these days. I don't think he will continue in the back three as he's not a great defender. I think he certainly has the potential to be a long term replacement for Steven Gerrard."

  16. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

Liverpool wing-back Alberto Moreno powers into the area, David Wheater is done for pace again and tries not to make a challenge. Moreno goes down but that is tame and he is waved to his feet.

Pretty open game still - Neil Danns is booked for Bolton for treading on Joe Allen's feet.

  17. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

    Phil Neville
Former Manchester United defender on BBC One

    "That is a centre-half's shot."

  18. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

One of the worst shots you will ever see! Dorian Dervite - a centre-back by trade - winds up for a first-time thumper from all of 30 yards, there is a collective 'Don't do it!' in the stands but he takes it on anyway and the Bolton defender drags it, out for a throw on the far side.

It was such a bad strike it nearly turned into a good crossfield pass.

  19. Vote resultpublished at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

We asked you earlier who you thought would win today's game. Perhaps unsurprisingly 69% of you went for Liverpool with the other 31% fancying a shock.

Andy in Manchester: Philippe Coutinho is as good as anyone in the Premier League on current form. Just needs to add goals to become the finished article.

Ludo in Oxford: I would be amazed, even against Bolton, if Joe Allen can do anything useful. We will miss Lucas tonight.
