"It's better to burn out than fade away."

A motto shared by both Neil Young and Kurt Cobain, and now seemingly by Dean Holdsworth too.

What do you reckon Liverpool fans? Rest is best for Daniel Sturridge? Or should Brendan Rodgers have chucked him in?

  2. 'Liverpool needed Sturridge'published at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 4 February 2015

Former Bolton forward Dean Holdsworth speaking before the teams were called out: "Liverpool are a fantastic football club and with Daniel Sturridge in the side they are even stronger and I'm sure Bolton will have done their preparation with or without him in the team.

"When we see the line-ups I'm sure the Liverpool fans will want to see him from the start and if he burns out, he burns out. He is a goal threat and they do need that."

You can't move for Lennon mentions on Merseyside at the moment.

As Aaron Lennon moves to the home city of John, it's Bolton boss Neil who comes under the spotlight this evening.

Wanderers are unbeaten at home since former Celtic boss Lennon took charge in October, and the man who won two Wembley finals with Leicester is hoping to send the Championship side closer to another grand day out...

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty at Macron Stadium

"Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will recognise the threat posed by Bolton Wanderers after they earned a goalless draw in the FA Cup fourth round at Anfield - but he will feel this competition represents a realistic chance of silverware after Chelsea and Manchester City fell by the wayside.

"Bolton boss Neil Lennon, meanwhile, has got what it takes to engineer the big result as he proved when Celtic beat Barcelona in the Champions League in November 2012. A win here against Liverpool in the replay at the Macron Stadium will enhance his managerial reputation in England after his successes north of the border."

    Liverpool

Steven Gerrard starts for Liverpool in one of two changes, but Daniel Sturridge is kept on the bench. Don't rush him back.

Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Allen, Gerrard, Moreno, Markovic, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling

Bolton have plenty of injury worries for tonight's game, but Liverpool have the opposite as they ponder whether to hand striker Daniel Sturridge a start.

The 25-year-old came off the bench to score against West Ham last weekend but hasn't started a game for the Reds since 31 August.

Is tonight the game to bring him back in?

Sturridge had a successful loan spell at Bolton in 2011, scoring eight Premier League goals in 11 starts.

Steven Gerrard turns 35 on the day of this season's FA Cup final, and as he leaves English football at the end of the season he hopes to bow out in style. Not if Bolton have their way, of course.

But what is the most memorable birthday you've ever had? What event or present did you enjoy that you'll never forget? Would any of them top an FA Cup win?

Alternatively, imagine losing the FA Cup final, in your final game for Liverpool, on your birthday. The big 40 couldn't come fast enough. So any tales of birthday woe would also be appreciated.

Steven Gerrard will make his 700th appearance for Liverpool if he is selected tonight.

You may have heard that he celebrates his 35th birthday on the day of the final, 30 May. Will he be celebrating at Wembley or in Whiston?

We will have team news shortly.

Gary Lineker is in place at a freezing Macron Stadium - they've rebadged the Reebok you fools - and we are all set for more FA Cup thrills. How big an upset would it be if Liverpool were knocked out tonight?

    "Hasta la vista, baby."

It's not often that a sequel beats the first instalment - but I guarantee that Bolton v Liverpool II will trump the first game.

That was a rather drab 0-0 at Anfield. Tonight we surely get the fireworks?
