  1. PSG denied by late Caen strikespublished at 17:34 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

A goal in stoppage time denied Paris St-Germain the chance to take the outright lead in Ligue 1.

Starting the day in third and on 48 points - two behind leaders Lyon - coach Laurent Blanc's men took a two-goal lead into half-time thanks to efforts from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

But the Lower Normandy club reduced the deficit in the 89th minute through Emiliano Sala before Herve Bazile's late equaliser, as the match finished 2-2.

Deportivo's defensive line is around two yards from goal - temporarily camped - as Ronaldo guides a header back across goal, Benzema swings it back over, anyone fancy putting it away? No.

    Hacked clear.

  3. CLOSE!published at 17:32 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Isaac Cuenca has had Deportivo's best chance and he's up for this. A fizzed strike is well wide but had some purpose.

He fancies a third league goal of the season. That's how many Isco now has.

  4. Postpublished at 17:30 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

In Lopo, 34, and Manuel Pablo, 39, Deportivo have two central defenders who had better be able to read the game well because pace may well be lacking. As Ronaldo tries to burn Lopo off, the bald defender concedes a corner and taps the Real star on the chest to jokingly ask for a reprieve.

  5. Postpublished at 17:28 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Some nervous signs still among Madrid ranks as Karim Benzema looses possession in his own half, allowing a ball to be delivered into the box. That five minute siege Real executed served up a goal but intensity dampens in the immediate aftermath.

  6. We do not share points...published at 17:25 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Real Madrid are the only side in La Liga to have not drawn a single league fixture this season.

It has been over two years since they have been involved in a goalless draw in the league. The wait goes on...

    Isco celebratesImage source, Getty Images

What Cristiano Ronaldo cannot do from six inches, Isco does from 18 yards with a lovely bender,Ronaldo must score as Benzema's prod across the goal line rolls in front of him...can't miss...he doesn't get a touch.

Danger over? Not quite, Isco takes aim and curls wonderfully around the goalkeeper's dive. Ripples the inside of the side netting. Crisis over?

A charmed life...a charmed life indeed lead Deportivo La Coruna in the last few moments. Bale again is at the heart of the good work down the right and his cross tees up Karim Benzema 10 yards out. Goal all over it but a stunning blocked brilliantly.

  9. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 17:18 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

This is not a ground Deportivo like visiting, with just two wins in 40 attempts. They are stroking the ball around beautifully, but wait...loose pass...Bale...cuts in from the right onto his left foot...goal...no.

He pounced with vigour but when the defence parted for Bale his shot from 25 yards cannoned back off the bar. Real are giving the woodwork an early workout.

  11. La Liga top scorerspublished at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo has 28 La Liga goals already this season - he has started just 19 games.

Lionel Messi is in his tracks on 22, while Neymar heads the supporting cast with 16.

  12. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Cristiano Ronaldo. Free-kick. The big build-up. He is on tip toes, like a ballerina, eyes focused, here he comes...step, step, step, bang...smashes the bar.

    An absolute belter.

The Bundesliga top two scored 13 goals between them, although the manner of their victories were very different.

Bayern Munich stormed to an 8-0 win over Hamburg, with Mario Gotze, Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben all scoring twice.

Shakhtar Donetsk await the German league leaders when the Champions League resumes this week.

Meanwhile, Dutch striker Bas Dost scored four times as Wolfsburg nicked a 5-4 win at Bayer Leverkusen despite having let slip a 3-0 half-time lead.

Bayern remain eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.

Credit to Deportivo La Coruna, they have started well at the Bernabeu and the home fans are whistling. Their side are not ahead after 10 minutes so there must be a catastrophe looming. Talk about on the teams' back.

Ronaldo tries to win favour with an acrobatic overhead kick but it is of no threat.

  15. CLOSE!published at 17:10 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Glorious opening for ex-Barcelona Isaac Cuenca man Isaac Cuenca as a Gareth Bale slip gives him time and space to pick his spot...top corner...no...just wide.

A great opening and chance for a rare Depor away goal.

  16. In the papers...published at 17:05 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Marca lead story on Real MadridImage source, Marca

Marca have got into the Valentine's Day swing of things as they lead with "football will return to love."

The papers adds Lucas Silva - signed from Brazilian club Cruzeiro for a reported £9.7m - could make his debut in midfield.

No sign of him in the starting XI but he does make the bench. Isco is in midfield and plucks a ball delightfully from the air. He has settled but no attack of meaning just yet...

  17. I'll go out on a limb and say home winpublished at 17:01 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

The last time these sides met, Real romped to an 8-2 win at the Riazor, with Cristiano Ronaldo netting a hat-trick.

His side have won five of the last six meetings with 5-1 and 6-1 wins thrown in to boot.

The aggregate score over those half a dozen games would be 24-6.

    A goalless draw tonight then...

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 17:00 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Here we go then. A response is what we are expecting from Carlo Ancelotti's side. Somehow we doubt Deportivo will hand out the same beating Los Blancos faced last week...

  19. Still a lot of love for Gareth...published at 16:55 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Look at this guy. A live-text dream on Valentine's Day...

I read a headline this week "is this Gareth Bale's first crisis at Real Madrid?".

The Oxford English Dictionary defines the word 'crisis' as: "A time of intense difficulty or danger."

Bale has been involved in 61 goals in 75 outings for Real Madrid - scoring 36 and assisting 25. Not too sure about 'crisis'.

  20. Sevilla in the Champions League mixpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Sevilla have moved into La Liga's top four with a comfortable 3-0 win at home against Cordoba.

Both sides ended up down to 10 men but Grzegorz Krychowiak and Carlos Bacca struck to give the home side a half-time lead and Vicente Iborra added a fishing touch.

Unai Emery's side are now fourth, a point ahead of Valencia who play Getafe on Sunday morning.

There are two matches later today: Granada v Athletic Bilbao (19:00 GMT), Malaga v Espanyol (21:00 GMT).
