Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood said last night that he would rather have the three points his side earned over West Brom than the £54m Euro Millions jackpot.

All very admirable, but lump the lottery money together with some parachute payments and Villa could have taken Cristiano Ronaldo down to the Championship and watched the chaos ensue.

QPR, Burnley and Leicester are all in action tonight and could do with a leg-up towards safety.

If the place settings at the top of the table are already looking fairly concrete, the game of Champions League musical chairs is just getting interesting.

From Arsenal down there are five teams separated by seven points, all fighting for their ticket to the Champions League.

However it ends up there are going to be a serious post-season post-mortem somewhere...

"It's hard for me to live without titles. I need to feed myself with them."

And Jose Mourinho doesn't go hungry for long.

In 14 years of management he has won 21 trophies - or one and a half a year.

He needs at least another pot from this campaign to keep his trophy hunger locked up for summer.

If his Chelsea side beat West Ham tonight and Manchester City slip up at home to Leicester, the Blues will be eight points clear with a game in hand and more than two thirds of the Premier League race run.

"Would Sir like some Brasso with that?"
