Jeremiah Kariuki:, external Crystal Palace defending relentlessly. Not giving to any pressure from Southampton who fail to make better use of set pieces.
Jason Puncheon's left-wing corner is headed back into the penalty area by Yannick Bolasie but Jose Fonte clears.
A first corner of the game for Crystal Palace....
Crystal Palace have half-hearted appeals for a penalty as Dwight Gayle goes down in the penalty area under Jose Fonte's challenge. Never a penalty.
At the other end, Sadio Mane is looking Southampton's danger man with his pace causing Palace a few problems.
For all Southampton's possession, main striker Graziano Pelle has only touched the ball once inside the penalty area and has yet to have a shot on goal.
Filipe Djuricic stands over a free kick on the right flank. Instead of delivering the ball, he attempts some training ground move and it comes to nothing. Get it in the box.
Some frustration from the home fans as Sadio Mane and Graziano Pelle attempt to combine on the edge of the penalty area but, once again, it is too intricate and the chance is gone.
Southampton have enjoyed 74% of possession so far but Palace look quite happy to let them have it before trying to hit them on the break.
Sadio Mane's low cross from the right is easily cleared by Palace. Another poor final ball.
Southampton's big problem in their recent slump has been finding the back of the net with just one goal in five matches.
Summer signing Graziano Pelle personifies that problem. The Italian striker, who scored eight goals before Christmas, has failed to bag in 10 Premier League matches.
His confidence looks to be at rock bottom.
A very low-key opening. Southampton are having all of the ball but Palace's defence has been untroubled. Just as I say that Victor Wanyama's scuffed shoot falls to the feet of Filip Djuricic but, after a poor first touch, he shoots horribly over from 18 yards.
Southampton's goal woes go on...
Palace's first attack as Wilfried Zaha advances down the right but his low cross is easy for Maya Yoshida to hack clear.
More patient passing from Southampton forces as corner as Wilfried Zaha runs the ball out under pressure from Graziano Pelle. The initial delivery is cleared before Eljero Elia fires wildly over the bar from 30 yards.
Southampton start on the front foot with some patient passing football. Little to trouble Crystal Palace so far though as Saints fans attempt to get their side going.
Pete Cash:, external Saints lose tonight, I think they can kiss goodbye to the top 4 dream !
Southampton XI: Forster, Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Bertrand, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Djuricic, Elia, Mane, Pelle.
Crystal Palace XI: Speroni, Kelly, Delaney, Dann, Ward, McArthur, Ledley, Zaha, Puncheon, Bolasie, Gayle.
We are under way.
Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak has been banned for four matches after accepting a Football Association charge of violent conduct for elbowing West Ham striker Diafra Sakho on Saturday.
Jedinak, 30, elbowed Sakho near the end of Palace's 3-1 victory at Upton Park.
The incident was missed by the match officials but caught on video, allowing the FA to take retrospective action.
Jedinak's ban begins immediately.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman: "There is always room to improve for players and the whole team but we still believe in the way we play football and it's always about scoring goals and the energy you need to win games.
"It's all about ability, spirit and confidence but the best medicine for confidence is to win games."
Saturday's 3-1 success at West Ham means Crystal Palace have won all five away matches under Alan Pardew - including a 3-2 victory at Southampton in the fourth round of the FA Cup in the club's first ever win at St Mary's.
Pardew though was on the end of a 4-0 drubbing at St Mary's as Newcastle boss in September. It is fair to say he has found a more sympathetic audience in London and it is no wonder.
Stuck in the relegation zone when Pardew arrived, the Eagles are now eight points above the bottom three.
Here come the teams.
