Defending champions Sevilla have doubled their lead at Villarreal, with Stephane M'bia heading in Benoit Tremoulinas's cross to make it 2-0 at the Estadio El Madrigal.

Gonzalo Higuain has headed hosts Napoli level against Dinamo Moscow to make it 1-1 at Stadio San Paolo - finishing from Faouzi Ghoulam's cross to cancel out Kevin Kuranyi's quick-fire opener.

Meanwhile, Josip Ilicic has rifled home from Mohamed Salah's throughball to give hosts Fiorentina a 1-0 lead in their all-Italian tie with Roma at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Antolin Alacaraz is having an absolute nightmare. The Everton defender alsmost gifts Dieumerci Mbokani a goal with a dreadful back pass. The home fans are not amused.

A rare chance for Everton. The Kiev keeper charges way out of his goal to clear a looping ball into his half but makes a bit of a mess of it. Romelu Lukaku has the ball at his feet 35-yards out. He tries his luck...the ball flies narrowly wide.

Poor miss from a rare opening.

Dynamo Kiev look a threat each time they surge forward. Dieumerci Mbokani's powerful header looks as though it's heading for the net but Phil Jagielka makes a vital block.

The Ukrainian leaders are full of confidence. Sergiy Sydorchuk lets fly from 25-yards. It's a low effort that's skidding towards the net before Tim Howard sticks out a hand.

Everton fans are out of their seats. Romelu Lukaku surges down the left and evades his marker but his pull-back is intercepted behind. The corner is poor and comes to nothing.

Still, at least there was some genuine positive intent there.

For the second night running an English team in blue finds itself trailing at home to continental opposition. Everton just can't get going. Frustration from the stands is turning to unrest.

It's so quiet at Goodison apart from 150 or so UK-based Kiev fans who are still celebrating their side's early lead. Everton fans urge their side forward. But they can't carve out an opening.

James Marshall: Dynamo Kiev would do Everton a favour by knocking them out. Be able then to concentrate on PL. That's much much more important, is it not.

Midway through the opening half and still no shot in anger from Everton. Romelu Lukaku cuts a frustrated figure. His side can't retain possession. More agony for English clubs in Europe. It's going to be a long night.

I've just seen two more TV replays of Kiev's goal. Everton's players are too slow to react from the corner and Tim Howard is easily exposed. Poor defending.

Roberto Martinez has his arms folded as the rain buckets down. The Everton manager does not look happy and nor should he. Kiev have the away goal. Everton have it all to do.

Terrible start by Everton. It's a wonderful finish by Oleg Gusev though, running towards the near post before steering a low volley beyond Tim Howard from a corner. The hosts have had it coming.

It took unbeaten Dinamo Moscow just two minutes to bring an end to Napoli's Europa League record run of five straight clean sheets, with Kevin Kuranyi heading in for the Russian side to make it 1-0 at the Stadio San Paolo.

There was an even quicker strike at Villarreal, where Sevilla midfielder Vitolo scored virtually straight from kick-off - finishing from Kevin Gameiro's lofted pass after 13 seconds - to give the defending champions a 1-0 lead in the all-Spanish tie.

Fiorentina are drawing 0-0 with Roma.

Another anxious moment for the Toffees defence as a cross is swung in from the left. Antolin Alcaraz loses his man and Dieumerci Mbokani narrowly fails to connect.

It's been raining since mid-afternoon and the ball is zipping across the surface. Everton are beginning to settle with Kevin Mirallas and James McCarthy asking questions of the Kiev defence.

Richard Clarke: Why all this talk of 'if Everton win the Europa League'. They can barely win a game in the clearly inferior PL. They are only here because they drew the weakest opposition in the last round. When they're out, people can look again at their league position which is awful. Does Martinez have a long expensive contract?

Flying start by Kiev as Antunes whips in a dangerous low cross into the Everton six-yard area. Tim Howard can only beat it away. The white-shirted visitors are not hanging around.
