Wigan have been pressing, but it's Watford who have sealed the victory which could leave them top of the Championship this evening.

Fernando Forestieri was brought down by a sliding Emmerson Boyce, and Troy Deeney smashes in his second goal of the game from the spot, before blazing the ball into the stands in celebration. That goal meant a lot to him.

  2. CLOSE!published at 21:35 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Big chance for Bolton goes begging. Craig Davies is unmarked at the back post but heads wide with minutes remaining. Let off for Ipswich.

  3. Postpublished at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Still goalless at The Den, but Brighton's Kazenga LuaLua tries to change that, cutting in from the left and drilling a shot which squeezes just wide of the right-hand post. We don't have much time for a breakthrough.

  4. Postpublished at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Norwich very much on the front foot now, with Huddersfield getting every man behind the ball to secure a point.

Can Norwich find a late goal and claim their fifth straight away win?

  5. GOALpublished at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

It looks set to be another miserable night for the Tangerines who have conceded a whopping 77 goals already this season as Johann Gudmundsson scores a cracking free-kick to put Charlton 3-0 up.

  6. GOALpublished at 21:29 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

That could be a very big goal for Brentford with both Ipswich and Wolves in front.

Jota is the architect as he jinks his way into the box. Jason Steele saves the Spaniard's deflected shot but can only push the ball into Andre Gray, who bundles it home from close range.

Will that kill off Blackburn's play-off hopes?

  7. Postpublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Derby, who in truth have looked quite poor, have a great chance to level when a delivery into the box ricochets back to substitute Jesse Lingard, but the on-loan Manchester United man drags his effort wide.

Will they have a better chance?

  8. Postpublished at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Changes all round as Tony Watt is replaced by Christophe Lepoint and Andrea Orlandi departs for Bright Osayi-Samuel who almost finds a consolation for the hosts but Stephen Henderson is on hand to tip his effort over the bar.

  9. GOALpublished at 21:23 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Ipswich have their breakthrough and they won't care a jot about the scrappy nature of it. Bolton fail to clear their lines and the ball drops to Jay Tabb who hits a bobbling volley into the floor and it bounces into the net. Big goal for the Tractor Boys.

  10. Postpublished at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Strange proceedings in League One as the sprinkler system comes on at Meadow Lane, forcing the players off the pitch in the game between Notts County and Rochdale. It soon restarted with a party-starting Balint Bajner making an appearance.

Meanwhile, Dean Saunders' Crawley are ahead at Port Vale thanks to goals from Isale McLeod and Richard Wood. MK Dons seem to be out of sight against Oldham with Ben Reeves putting them 3-0 up. In League Two, promotion-chasing Shrewsbury are 2-1 up against 10-man Morecambe who have had Andreas Arestidou sent off for a bad challenge.

  11. Postpublished at 21:22 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Watford go close to a second which would wrap up the game at the DW Stadium. Joel Ekstrand picks up the pieces after a free-kick and fires a low effort just wide of the far post.

The Hornets are currently top of the 'as it stands' table, with Bournemouth drawing 1-1 at Cardiff.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:20 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

A bizarre moment at the Cardiff City Stadium sees Callum Wilson booked for deflecting home keeper Simon Moore's kick into the back of the net.

  13. Postpublished at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Entering the final 15 minutes around the grounds. Are we in for some late drama anywhere?

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Steve McClaren is throwing that dice and hoping it comes up a six. He makes a double change, bringing on Jesse Lingard and Jeff Hendrick for the two Jamies, Ward and Hanson, in a bid to ensure his side don't lose ground on the top three.

  15. GOALpublished at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Magic stuff from Wes Hoolahan, who scores within four minutes of leaving the bench. He gets free down the right-hand side and strokes a measured left-foot finish past goalkeeper Alex Smithies. The luck of the Irish on St Patrick's Day?

  16. GOALpublished at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

And that should be that for Wolves. Wednesday have had more chances since Wolves doubled their lead, with Marnick Vermihl and Chris Maguire both going close.

But it's goals that change games and they hosts have their third as James Henry strides forward unchallenged before finding the top corner with a left-footed drive from 25 yards.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Eidur Gudjohnson's night is over with the Icelander replaced by midfielder Barry Bannan.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Bradley Johnson, who was booked for handling the ball into the net in the opening minutes, is replaced by Irish playmaker Wes Hoolahan. Norwich still searching for an equaliser.

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:08 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2015

Cole Skuse sends a rasping volley against the post before he is denied from the rebound by goalkeeper Ben Amos. Close for the Tractor Boys.

Patrick Bamford scoresImage source, Getty Images

It had to be Patrick Bamford, didn't it? The forward, who had a successful loan spell with Derby last season, puts Middlesbrough ahead and it's nothing more than his side deserve from their start to this half.

Tom Ince lost possession on the edge of the Boro area, and Lee Tomlin broke quickly, laying in the on-loan Chelsea man, who rounded the goalkeeper and slotted in from a tight angle.

A happy St Patrick's Day for Bamford.
