"When Walsall counter-attack they need to do so with pace and get bodies into the attacking area. They need to attack the space that Bristol City allow you."
The chances are coming thick and fast in this game. Who needs El Clasico? Kieran Agard is causing all sorts of problems down the left for Bristol City, but his shot is tame when he had top scorer Aaron Wilbraham up in support.
BBC Sport's Caroline Chapman at Wembley: "Aden Flint's opener has sent the Bristol City end wild. The former Alfreton man has become a firm fans' favourite this season thanks to his now six goals in 10 games. Are we sure he's a defender?"
Walsall try to respond straight away as Anthony Forde throws a dangerous ball into the area, but Romaine Sawyers can't get a strike away under pressure from City defenders. Jordan Cook's resultant header is poor and Bristol City regroup.
Louis Carey
Ex-Bristol City defender on BBC Radio Bristol
"When you've got people of the quality in the air of Aden Flint and Aaron Wilbraham then you are always going to cause problems.
"It was an excellent ball in from Marlon Pack and a really good header from Aden.
"It will be interesting to see Walsall's response. They are hard to beat when they have got a lead but can they come back against a side of Bristol City's quality?"
You can't really say it's not been coming. A pinpoint corner from Marlon Pack is inch perfect for Aden Flint, and the 6ft 5ins centre-half powers home with his head for a 10th goal of the season.
Walsall could have perhaps defended that better, but it is difficult to stop a man of his stature.
Joe Bryan, the Football League's Young Player of the Month is the next Bristol City player to have a go at the Walsall defence, but he runs the ball too far and it goes out of play.
Despite being on the back foot there are some somewhat meaty, but fair, challenges going in from the Saddlers.
Walsall are really struggling to stop Luke Freeman from influencing the game. He finds a little pocket in between the defence and midfield, plays Agard in to the left of the area, but the striker's shot is weak and easy for Richard O'Donnell to get down to.
BBC Sport's Caroline Chapman at Wembley: "'Come on you Reds' ringing around Wembley from, well, everyone."
Anthony Forde has a speculative pop at goal for Walsall, but it's easy for Frank Fielding, once in the England squad, to deal with.
That's the first sight at goal for Walsall, who are in their changed kit of black as the "away side".
BBC West Midlands' social media editor John Bray at Wembley: "There's one seat that probably won't be sat on very much this afternoon. Walsall boss Dean Smith has already been out on the touchline after Bristol City's Luke Freeman's long-range drive just cleared the bar. We're five minutes in and the Saddlers are doing ok - but still no sign of their manager sitting down."
Bristol City have certainly started the stronger, and after great work down the left from Kieran Agard, Korey Smith is closed down well by Sam Mantom, who deflects the shot out for a corner.
That goes straight into the arms of Richard O'Donnell.
Louis Carey
Ex-Bristol City defender on BBC Radio Bristol
"That is what Luke is great at. He is playing at the top of the diamond and any time he can pick the ball up in that area he is more than capable of sliding in the wing-back or putting it in the top corner, which is what he nearly did there."
First effort at goal falls to Luke Freeman of Bristol City. A lovely turn takes him away from the defender and he strikes right-footed outside of the area, which flies just over Richard O'Donnell's goal.
A first sign of what the little man can do to Walsall's defence.

"You can feel out of breath in the first few minutes of a game like this because of the occasion but you soon settle down and get on with the game."
Cagey opening to the game as both sets of players try to get a feel of the ball. Pretty understandable to be honest, given the occassion.
Bristol City's Korey Smith plays a ball forward to Kieran Agard, but it's easily dealt with.
And we're off! Ref Mick Russell blows his whistle and Bristol City get the 32nd Football League Trophy final underway.
Unfortunately, we can't bring you online local radio commentary of this afternoon's final because of contractual issues.
But if you're in Birmingham and the Black Country or around Bristol you can listen to the game.
You can follow the match on BBC WM on 95.6FM and DAB, and on BBC Radio Bristol on 94.9 and 104.6 FM and DAB.
Just to recap on the team news quickly, Kieran Agard and Derrick Williams come in to the Bristol City line-up and Wembley folklore-goalscorer Wade Elliott is on the bench.
As for Walsall, top scorer Tom Bradshaw and defender Andy Butler are fit after injury concerns and line-up in Dean Smith's starting XI.
