"England have Kane. Spain have Morata. France have Lacazette. First international goal tonight. 28 goals in all comps this season."
Daily Mail journalist Jack Gaughan:, external Is Shay Given the most overrated goalkeeper in Premier League history?
Damien in Sheffield: It says something that Ireland's chief attacking outlet is right-back Seamus Coleman, and he's yet to score for his country.
Luke Dady: Peszko. Was genuinely rubbish at Molineux, and now he's tearing up the Irish.
Ricardo Carvalho scores, Valentino Rossi wins a race - is it 2005?
It's hardly raining goals. Ricardo Carvalho's header separates Portugal and Serbia in Group I, while Hungary and Greece are locked at 0-0 in Group F - Northern Ireland's Group. Meanwhile, a goal from Alexandre Lacazette has given France the lead over Denmark in a friendly.
Defeat tonight would not be terminal for Ireland's chances of qualification but it will be all uphill driving from here on in.
They will have to make changes - surely? - as they have not troubled Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski once so far.
A few jeers - but plenty of cheers from the massive Polish support - as the half-time whistle goes.
Seamus Coleman goes into the book for a pull and the free-kick is dangerous, but well headed out by John O'Shea. Ireland need half-time.
John Fitzpatrick: Get Daryl Murphy on.
Matthew Tasker: Bring Harry Arter on! Midfield mastermind.
Jeet Padaruth: Is Roy Keane still part of the Ireland coaching staff? If so, I'd hate to be Robbie Brady at half-time.
Yep. Here he is.
That's brilliant feet from Aiden McGeady! He leaves two Polish defenders on their backsides with a fine turn and then chips one just past the far post!
Not sure if it was a shot or a cross but it nearly went in.
Ipswich Town's Irish striker Noel Hunt:, external Do we want to sell any more tickets to Polish fans by the way? Schoolboy stuff from the FAI! It's like an away game! More red than green!
Maciej Rybus flicks a header wide after strong play down the Polish left. A second goal for the visitors would be the end of this game as a contest you'd think.
Better from Robbie Brady as he skips away from a challenge to gain 40 yards, but he can't get a clean cross into the middle. Ireland haven't had an effort on target yet but they have recovered their composure since falling behind. Seamus Coleman is an outlet on the right.
Seamus Coleman does really well to win a free-kick from a lost cause on the right, and Robbie Brady wastes it, overclubbing one straight out of play. The Hull man has not had a great first half.
Dan Tagg: Get the right keeper in net, Ireland. It's Westwood - top keeper.
Javel: Well that's this season's campaign over. Big hill to climb, getting steeper all the way.
Colin Reid: Poor defending all round.
Poland break away and Glenn Whelan has to take one for the team and bring down Arkadiusz Milik from behind. It's actually John O'Shea who is booked for an earlier foul on Robert Lewandowski. Ireland hanging on as Poland surge forwards at will. Free-kick from a long way out, Maciej Rybus shoots but that's well wide.
If the result stays like this, Poland will top Group D on 13 points, with Germany and Scotland on 10 and the Republic on seven.
I don't know how many fans Poland officially have in Dublin tonight - but unofficially they've got loads. It sounds and looks like a home game as the flares go off and the chants reverberate around the Aviva Stadium. All to do for the Republic now.
Adam Byrne: Ireland painful to watch as usual. No skill, no talent, no creativity, no imagination, nothing. Useless. #coybig
#coybig, for the uninitiated, stands for 'come on, you boys in green'.
What a finish! But it's awful defending from Republic of Ireland as Marc Wilson and Robbie Brady make a mess of clearing the ball in the left-back position. Former Wolves winger Slawomir Peszko picks the ball up, cuts inside and thunders a left-footed belter past Shay Given. Wonderfully struck.
