"Eddie Howe will be pleased with the Bournemouth reaction so far. That's two decent chances they've carved out already. They've got good incisive play down the wings and are really testing this Ipswich defence."

At the other end Zeki Fryers gets a little bit carried away as he strikes wildly over the bar from 25 yards. A cracking start to the match.

  3. CLOSE!published at 17:27 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Bournemouth go so close again. This time Charlie Daniels' cross from the left is just about hacked clear before Brett Pitman curls a shot from inside the penalty area over the bar with the outside of his right foot. Great reaction from the Cherries but still they trail.

  4. Postpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

What kind of reaction can Bournemouth produce? A positive one. Midfielder Andrew Surman ghosts into the Ipswich box, latching on to Callum Wilson's right-wing pass, but can only flick past the far post.

Former Ipswich and England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

"Daryl Murphy is not marked at the far post - the Bournemouth defence don't get out quick enough to him. He plays the ball in to Sears and he can't miss from there. It was a basic goal to concede.

"This is what Ipswich needed - it's the given the crowd and the players a lift. Let's see where they go from here."

  6. GOALpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

That wasn't in their plans though as Freddie Sears is given the freedom of Portman Road to sweep home Daryl Murphy's squared pass to give Ipswich the lead. Don't forget a win moves the hosts into the play-off spots.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last six matches, while Ipswich have won their last two. Two form teams and both in with a shout of promotion. This should be a cracker.

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy poses for a selfie with a young fan. Game on.

  10. League Twopublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Table-topping Burton's lead is down to one point after a late goal from Plymouth held the Brewers to a 1-1 draw. Shrewsbury beat Dagenham 2-0 to stay in second, but Wycombe, in third, were beaten 3-2 by Oxford.

Strugglers Hartlepool and Tranmere both failed to hold on to leads to record draws that leave them perilously close to back-markers Cheltenham, who lost at York.

And Portsmouth fans who made the long, long journey to Carlisle will have plenty of time to fume over their side's inability to hang on to a lead - the Cumbrians equalised deep into stoppage time at the end of the full 90. Still, at least those long-suffering Pompey fans have got a long weekend still to enjoy when they eventually get home.

  11. League Onepublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 3 April 2015

Bristol City saw their lead at the top reduced to eight points following their 1-1 draw at Oldham, and Preston's 1-0 win over Rochdale at Deepdale.

Chesterfield were the only side in the play-off spots to play today, and they turned around a two-goal deficit at Yeovil to win 3-2, leaving the Somerset side eight points adrift of Colchester, who beat Port Vale 2-1, at the foot of the table.

    Championship

All over at The Den, where Millwall give their hopes of Championship survival a massive shot in the arm. Two late goals give the 10-man hosts a vital 2-1 victory over Charlton in a nervy south London derby.

Millwall move up to third bottom, four points behind Rotherham who lost at Birmingham. Neil Harris's side trade places with Wigan, who drop to second bottom after their limp 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.

    Former Middlesbrough defender Danny Mills
BBC Radio 5 live at Riverside Stadium

"Boro were below their best today but they've ground out a result and are now top of the table. There are two massive games to come later today now. Wigan had no real spirit, no creativity, they were very poor."
