Red-and-white scarves as far as you can see at the Calderon as the stadium awaits the sides. Madrid is bang up for this. The home side will play at 110mph, can they overwhelm a ridiculously-talented Real side?

I'd love it, love it if we had a goal as good as this tonight.

Twenty-four years ago today Paul Gascoigne scored an outrageous goal in the FA Cup semi-final.

Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Arda Turan - who can manage something similar tonight?

I'll tell you how loud it is the Calderon already - Roy Keane can't hear Paul Scholes standing next to him on ITV. He didn't have that problem when they were running the midfield together.

Cracking atmosphere at the Calderon as you'd expect, real fever pitch stuff.

You look at the sides tonight and Real Madrid's strength could well be their weakness. A front six of ridiculous attacking strength but not much in the way of defensive balance. Maybe Carlo Ancelotti is banking on an away goal or two...

Of course! The two Milan teams would have zero distance to travel. I seem to recall that they met in a semi-final a decade or so ago too.

Juve are the sole flag bearers for Serie A these days though.

  13. Real gone kidpublished at 19:13 British Summer Time 14 April 2015

He may not be involved tonight but Martin Odegaard will overcome his initial problems and be a Real Madrid success, says former boss Ronny Deila.

The Spaniards beat a host of clubs, including Celtic, to buy the Norway midfielder, 16, from Deila's former club, Stromsgodset, in January.

But the teenager has been criticised for his displays with Real's B team, with his attitude also questioned.

"I think he in the future will be better and better," said Deila, suggesting there is no big problem.

"I can assure you that he has no attitude problem. That's 100% certain."

Reports in Spain have suggested that Odegaard, who cost Real more than £2m, has insisted on training with Real's first team instead of Castilla, who play in the third tier, Segunda Division B.

  16. How do Atletico hurt Real?published at 19:06 British Summer Time 14 April 2015

    Andy West
    European football writer

"One of the specific tactical keys to Atletico's recent dominance over Real is their ability to exploit their attacking strength and Real's defensive weakness: width.

    Atletico MadridImage source, PA

"All four of Atletico's goals against Real in February came from crosses - three from the right wing, where deceptively skilful right-back Juanfran regularly surges forward to showcase his outstanding crossing ability.

"Los Rojiblancos are especially dangerous when they play against Real because of Carlo Ancelotti's 4-3-3 formation. That allows Gareth Bale and especially Cristiano Ronaldo to be largely absolved of defensive duties and frequently leaves full-backs Marcelo and Dani Carvajal outnumbered."
