Back to today's action and the first game of the day.

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson calling journalist an ostrich? Newcastle caretaker coach John Carver having a cuppa with two supporters he had a "heated exchange" with?

    Where do we start?

Undoubtedly both managers will want to forget the week gone and concentrate on the football. Their teams are walking on a very rickety bridge - who will stay on and who will fall off?

"We need four points. That's what's in my head at the moment," says Carver, whose team have lost the last seven and are five points above the relegation zone.

Pearson, whose side are a point above the dreaded bottom three, added: "When you play against sides that are also fighting for their lives, it throws up an element that makes it difficult to predict."

Lawro has predicted - he says 2-0 to the Foxes.

Bill Wyman says 2-1 to the home side - rock n' roll.

    What do you lot think?

And here's some very, very early Newcastle team news.

Striker Emmanuel Riviere will start, while fellow forward Siem de Jong is likely to come off the bench, having got 90 minutes under his belt for the Under 21s this week.

So that's Riviere with no goals in 19 league games.

Heads out of the sand and ready for a big day in English football

    The big day has arrived.

In a few hours time, two fierce competitors will finally be brought together inside one venue in what promises to be a titanic battle.

The crowd will be baying for blood and both will be up for the fight, but who will be left standing at the end?

It has a strong chance of being a classic.

So who is your money on? Pearson or Carver?

I jest. A little. The attention will be on Leicester v Newcastle. The Foxes are hovering above the drop-zone, while the Magpies are only five points above the relegation zone.
