As expected really. Real Madrid close the gap on Barcelona, Juventus march on towards the title, and Wolfsburg set up a German Cup final against Borussia Dortmund.

It has been a pleasure. Cheerio.

  2. FULL-TIME

    Italian Serie A

Juventus are made to wait a little bit longer to seal their fourth consecutive Serie A title as nearest challengers Lazio hammer now relegated Parma 4-0.

Parma's fate is sealed by Atalanta's 2-2 draw at Cesena.

  3. Post update

    Juventus 3-2 Fiorentina

    Italian Serie A

Josip Ilicic pulls a goal back for Fiorentina. But, leading 3-2 in injury time, Juventus should hold on.

Sorry Parma, I've spoken too soon.

Mauricio Pinilla levels for Atalanta at Cesena and Parma, trailing 4-0 at Lazio, will be relegated.

  6. Post update

    Italian Serie A

Parma - you aren't down yet.

Carlos Carbonero gives Cesena a 2-1 lead against Atalanta, which means mathematically Parma survive for now.

They will be 15 points off safety with five games to go though...

  7. FULL-TIME

    Arminia Bielefeld 0-4 Wolfsburg

    German Cup

Wolfsburg will play Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup final after destroying third tier Arminia Bielefeld this evening. A brave effort from the minnows though.

  8. GOAL

Juventus 3-1 Fiorentina - Carlos Tevez

    Italian Serie A

Juventus are simply unstoppable in Serie A. The Old Lady are close to sealing a fourth consecutive Serie A title as Carlos Tevez scores his second of the evening.

  9. Post update

    Italian Serie A

Remember Parma's glory days of the late 1980's? Well, they are long gone.

Italy international Gianfranco Zola and South American stars Faustino Asprilla and Hernan Crespo helped ensure the Italian city became synonymous with football, taking them to a Uefa Cup success 20 years ago.

This evening they are dropping out of Serie A it appears with their future very much in doubt due to cash worries. Sad times.

  10. Post update

    FT: Real Madrid 3-0 Almeria

    rEAL mADRID

There can be few complaints about James Rodriguez's first season at Real Madrid.

He has already has been involved in 22 goals in La Liga, one more than Angel Di Maria - now at Manchester United - last season.

  11. Post update

    Arminia Bielefeld 0-4 Wolfsburg

    German Cup

Arminia Bielefeld are plugging away valiantly in the German Cup semi-final but Wolfsburg have simply had too much for them this evening. The third-tier club trail 4-0 with 11 minutes to go. No fairy tale here.

  12. Latest in Italy

    Italian Serie A

Perhaps Parma aren't quite down yet.

Cesena's Franco Brienza levels from the penalty spot against Atalanta. As results stand, Parma are down but another Cesena goal and they get a stay of execution. Only temporarily though surely?

  13. Text us on 81111

Mark, Newcastle, on text: Ronaldo only caring about himself again whereas Messi is more of a team player. Much more respect for the Argentine.

  14. Post update

    FT: Real Madrid 3-0 Almeria

    Stats

A glance at the stats shows Real were undoubtedly worthy winners. Perhaps not as dominant as expected though?

  15. Parma heading down

    Italian Serie A

    pARMA

It looks like curtains for Parma in Serie A.

Mauricio Pinilla gives Atalanta a 1-0 lead at Cesena and, with Parma trailing 3-0 at Lazio, their relegation will be confirmed.

  16. Join the debate at #bbcfootball

HombreVerde: Ancelotti could have given the lad 3 minutes. I could have played three minutes against these.

  17. Post update

    Arminia Bielefeld 0-4 Wolfsburg

    German Cup

The dream is over for Arminia Bielefeld.

Ivan Perisic and Maximilian Arnold have netted after the break to give Wolfsburg a commanding lead over their third-tier opponents in the German Cup semi-final.

Borussia Dortmund are already in the final.

  18. FULL-TIME

    Real Madrid 3-0 Almeria

Job done for Real Madrid. They move to within two points of La Liga leaders Barcelona.

It was far from flowing but it is all about results at this stage of the season.

  19. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-0 Almeria

Inches away from a fourth as Isco volleys Jese's cross just wide.

  20. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-0 Almeria

It just isn't Cristiano Ronaldo's night as he heads Jese's cross over the bar. Two minutes of injury time signalled.

  21. SUBSTITUTION

    Real Madrid 3-0 Almeria

Martin Odegaard is going to have to wait to make history. The 16-year-old won't become Real's youngest ever player this evening as he is left on the substitutes bench.

Nacho replaces Raphael Varane as Real's final change.

  22. GOAL

Real Madrid 3-0 Almeria - Alvaro Arbeloa

Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't look particularly happy as Alvaro Arbeloa beats him to Javier Hernandez's cross to seal the victory for Real. That is Arbeloa's first league goal since 2008.

  23. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Almeria

Jese breaks down the right but his attempted square ball is scrambled away by Angel Trujillo. Javier Hernandez and Cristiano Ronaldo were waiting.

  24. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Almeria

Almeria are playing some nice enough stuff around the edge of Real's penalty area but, every time they threaten, their final product is shocking.

Talking about poor, Cristiano Ronaldo wildly fires a shot into row z from 25 yards. Ronaldo has had nine attempts on goal this evening and without success so far.

  25. Post update

    Juventus 2-1 Fiorentina

    Italian Serie A

Carlos Tevez gives Juventus the lead on the stroke of half time. It won't be enough to win the title yet though as Lazio lead Parma 3-0. Parma are down as results stand.

  26. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Almeria

Into the last 15 minutes and Real Madrid look certain to be closing the gap to Barcelona at the top of La Liga to two points. The hosts are pressing for more, Almeria look ready to go home,

  27. CLOSE!

    Real Madrid 2-0 Almeria

Cristiano Ronaldo is finding his range. The Portuguese sweeps in a low cross from the right and Javier Hernandez flicks the ball just wide. Good movement by the Mexican.

  28. Post update

    Juventus 1-1 Fiorentina

    Italian Serie A

Gonzalo Rodriguez gives Fiorentina a surprise lead from the penalty spot but Fernando Llorente levels for Serie A leaders Juventus. The Old Lady will have to wait for the title though with Lazio beating Parma 3-0.

  29. CLOSE!

    Real Madrid 2-0 Almeria

That is very poor by Cristiano's Ronaldo's standards. The forward drags a shot wide of goal after being played through by Isco. Should have scored.

  30. SUBSTITUTION

    Real Madrid 2-0 Almeria

Just one more chance for Martin Odegaard to become Real's youngest ever player this evening as Asier Illarramendi is replaced by Lucas Silva. Will the Norwegian be the third and final sub?

  31. SUBSTITUTION

    Real Madrid 2-0 Almeria

James Rodriguez is replaced to a decent ovation by Isco. The Colombian deserves the applause for his opener alone.

  32. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Almeria

Almeria's Mauro Dos Santos definitely got the final touch for Real's second goal. That was why no celebration from Cristiano Ronaldo.

  33. Join the debate at #bbceurofooty

Paul Collins: Hernandez has abysmal control of a ball. Real Madrid won't keep him. They can sign better.

  34. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Almeria

A lovely curling ball from the right by Almeria's Mane is just about cleared away from in front of his own goal by Pepe. Credit to the visitors, they aren't giving up.

  35. Post update

    Arminia Bielefeld 0-2 Wolfsburg

    German Cup

Luiz Gustavo has added to Max Arnold's opener to put Wolfsburg in total control in the German Cup semi-final against third tier Arminia Bielefeld. Borussia Dortmund await the winner in the final.

  36. Post update

    Real Madrid 2-0 Almeria

Don't be surprised to see Real get near Barcelona's six goals from last night. It is one-way traffic at the start of this half and the hosts finally look hungry for goals.

  37. Post update

    Milan 0-0 Genoa

    Italian Serie A

    AC Milan

AC Milan fans are protesting at the San Siro tonight. Their match at home to Genoa is already under way and since the shot above was taken supporters have arranged themselves into a shape spelling the Italian word 'basta', which means 'enough'.

The Rossoneri are enduring their worst season since 1997-98 and are currently in 10th.

  38. Latest from Italy

    Italian Serie A

It looks like being a miserable end to a miserable season for Parma. They are now 3-0 down to Lazio within 20 minutes thanks to Antonio Candreva's strike. If they lose, they are down unless Atalanta lose to Cesena. It is currently 0-0.

  39. GOAL

Real Madrid 2-0 Almeria - Mauro dos Santos (own goal)

Cristiano Ronaldo is standing in an offside position but he gets away with it as he looks to tap home Toni Kroos's low cross from the right. Almeria's Mauro dos Santos gets there first though for an own goal.

  40. Join the debate at #bbceurofooty

Peter Collins: I really hope he gets on, but who exactly does Odegaard replace in Real's team? Would Ancelotti want to change anything?

Paul Collins: Odegaard won't get on! He's only on bench to satisfy his contactual clauses and stop him and his dad moaning.

  41. KICK-OFF

    Real Madrid 1-0 Almeria

No room for any slip ups from Real as they look to close the gap to Barcelona at the top of La Liga to two points. Game on.

  42. Latest scores

    Italian Serie A

It looks like Juventus might have to wait for that title. Lazio have taken an early 2-0 lead at home to Parma, through goals from Marco Parolo and Miroslav Klose. A Lazio win means Juventus will still need a point even if they beat Fiorentina.

Parma's relegation will be confirmed if Atalanta better their result. They are drawing 0-0 at Cesena, so as it stands Parma are down.

  43. Post update

    HT: Real Madrid 1-0 Almeria

    Martin Odegaard

We could see history made at the Bernabeu this evening. Sixteen-year-old Martin Odegaard will become the youngest ever Real Madrid player if he gets on.

  44. Join the debate at #bbceurofooty

Belete Eshetea: How many beautiful goals James Rodriguez scored? I think this could go the best of the season.

Joss Bellamy: Real are a notch below last year's spell but still a force to be reckoned with.. Don't write them off just yet.

  45. Post update

    Juventus 0-0 Fiorentina

    Italian Serie A

Juventus will be hoping to seal their fourth consecutive Serie A title this evening. They know if they beat Fiorentina and Lazio fail to defeat Parma, the title is theirs with five games to go. Just under way in Italy.

  46. HALF-TIME

    Real Madrid 1-0 Almeria

Real Madrid have been pretty awful but, when you have players like James Rodriguez, you always have a chance. A moment of magic brings a dull half to life. Barcelona watch out, Real are coming...

  47. GOAL

Real Madrid 1-0 Almeria - James Rodriguez (45 mins)

    James Rodriguez

    Well, turgid until then anyway.

What. A. Strike. James Rodriguez latches on to Angel Trujillo's weak header and fires a stunning first-time volley over goalkeeper Ruben and into the back of the net. Unstoppable.

Remember his World cup volley against Uruguay? This wasn't too far off it.

  48. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

Can Almeria hold on until half time? Into the last three minutes of the half and goalkeeper Ruben has been a relative spectator. Turgid stuff from the hosts.

  49. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo waves his arms at anyone who is interested as another cross from the right flies over his head. Real are getting worse rather than better. Hairdryer time for Carlo Ancelotti.

  50. GOAL

Arminia Bielefeld 0-1 Wolfsburg - Maximilian Arnold (8 mins)

    German Cup

A disastrous start for third tier Arminia Bielefeld in the German Cup semi-final as Max Arnold fires their Bundesliga opponents Wolfsburg into the lead. Borussia Dotmund await the winner.

  51. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

This has been sloppy stuff by the hosts so far. There is no fluency, no tempo and no real urgency. You get the feeling they just expect the win to happen and Almeria are doing their best to surprise them.

Barcelona were 4-0 up by this stage last night...

  52. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

Here goes Cristiano Ronaldo again. A free kick from the left, 25 yards out, but not much cop this time.

A real anti climax from Ronny there as the ball flies into the crowd.

  53. Post update

Arminia Bielefeld 0-0 Wolfsburg (19:30 BST)

    German Cup

They are under way in the German Cup semi-final, where third tier Arminia Bielefeld are looking to upset Bundesliga Wolfsburg. We will let you know if anything happens.

  54. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

Head down, a few steps back, a slight off centre stance. Cristiano Ronaldo ambles up to the ball and completely bamboozles goalkeeper Ruben. Fortunately for the Almeria stopper the ball ends up on the top of the net.

Graham, King's Lynn: I can't think of wonder kids without the name Tonton Zola Moukoko springing to mind!

I, Rob: There was a kid at Barca called Messi who had a stormer against Chelsea in 2005. Wonder what happened to him?

Here's a chance though. James Rodriguez is floored 30 yards out...

Free-kick to Real and Cristiano Ronaldo is pacing it out...

  57. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

A stunning low cross from the right by Jese. The forward looks to be running down a blind alley but manages to flash a fierce ball across the face of goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez are caught standing there admiring themselves and the chance is gone.

  58. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

    Almeria v Real Madrid

Almeria are turning on the style. Tomer Hemed twists and turns in the penalty area, pulls the ball back to Verza but, just 18 yards out, he horribly scuffs the ball wide.

    Blame the bobble there son.

  59. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

The hosts are beginning to look a little frustrated. Almeria have a free-kick in a dangerous position some 30 yards from goal on the right touchline. Chance gone though as Mane's touches the ball wide.

  60. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

There is an expectant air around the Bernabeu this evening. Kind of like when the school's star athlete pitches up for sportsday and believes he just has to go through the motions.

Real are very much just going through the motions at the moment. They need to pick this up...

  61. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

Another 25-yard strike from Almeria. This time, Mane's swerving effort sails harmlessly wide. Better from the visitors though.

  62. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

Almeria's first shot of the match as Corona's scuffed shot takes a deflection of Pepe for a corner.

    They can't can they? No.

  63. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

That's a bit better from the visitors. Some neat stuff in the middle of the park before Mane's deep cross is headed clear.

Almeria appear to be playing with a flat back six, plus two holding midfielders....

  64. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

    Cristiano Ronaldo

You won't be surprised to hear this is exceptionally one-sided so far. Almeria will be glad to get to 10 minutes still level, but it appears only a matter of time before Real break their duck.

  65. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

That is one for the scrapbook. Cristiano Ronaldo completely mis-controls the ball as he looks to go through on goal.

Javier Hernandez's deft flick sends him beyond the Almeria defence but he fluffs his lines.

Looking to make amends he has a low shot saved by goalkeeper Ruben before heading the resulting corner over. Could have been a hat-trick in two minutes.

  66. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

They are getting closer. Alvaro Arbeloa's cross from the right is met by James Rodriguez but he steers his header wide. The Colombian isn't know for his aerial ability and it showed.

  67. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

Almost an opener. Javier Hernandez collects the ball on the left and his wicked low cross looks certain to be touched by Cristiano Ronaldo at the far post. Somehow is just evades the Portuguese. The first chance of many you expect.

  68. Post update

    Real Madrid 0-0 Almeria

Far from a sell out at the Bernabeu.

Empty blue seats everywhere. Surely the absence of Gareth Bale hasn't turned that many people off?

Scott, Braunton: Whatever happened to 'the next Pele' Freddy Adu?

  72. Post update

Real Madrid v Almeria (19:00 BST)

    Here come the teams.

The Bernabeu expects and, after five straight wins in the league, so they should.

Remember Real are five points behind leaders Barcelona. No room for a slip up.

  73. Post update

Real Madrid v Almeria (19:00 BST)

This is a huge game for Almeria as well, who are sitting one place outside the relegation zone at the moment.

What a victory would do for their season... It is pretty unlikely though isn't it?

  74. Transfer ban?

Real Madrid v Almeria (19:00 BST)

Are Real Madrid about to be hit with a transfer ban? Not according to them.

Both themselves and Atletico have denied reports that Fifa is set to impose a transfer ban on them for breaching rules on signing of players aged under 18.

A report by Spanish media outlet Cadena Ser claimed Real and Atletico would be banned from signing players for the next two transfer windows.

Real said the report was "completely false", while Atletico said Fifa had not contacted them about any breach. Fifa said it could not comment. One to watch.

  77. From Litte Pea to big fish

Real Madrid v Almeria (19:00 BST)

    Spanish La Liga

Javier Hernandez is fast becoming an unlikely Real Madrid hero.

The Manchester United loanee had scored five goals in his first 24 Real games, mostly from the bench.

But he scored the only goal against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday and then twice in Sunday's 4-2 win over Celta Vigo.

He described Real as "the best team in the world" but he could well not be at the Bernabeu next season.

  78. Minnows on the rise

    Italian Serie A

    Carpi

Talking about minnows how about this for a story?

Small-town club Carpi will play in Italy's Serie A for the first time next season after completing a historic rise.

Five years ago the club, whose stadium has a capacity of 4,144, was playing in the Italian fifth division.

They were promoted to Serie B in the 2012-13 season and will now face giants like Juventus and AC Milan in Serie A.

There are questions over where Carpi will play next season as Serie A rules require a minimum capacity of 20,000.

  79. Thrown to the Wolves

    German Cup

It could also be a huge night in the history of DSC Arminia Bielefeld.

They were in the Bundesliga back in 2009 but a difficult last few seasons has seen them drop into the third tier.

They host top-flight Wolfsburg this evening in the German Cup semi-final - with Borussia Dortmund awaiting the winners.

    Palermo v Torino

    Sampdoria v Verona

    Sassuolo v Roma

    Cesena v Atalanta

  81. The inevitable exit

    Italian Serie A

Talking about the inevitable - Parma could be put out of their Serie A misery this evening.

Their relegation will be confirmed if Atalanta, who are at Cesena, better their result.

The Gialloblu were declared bankrupt by a court in Italy but have been allowed to see out of the season.

What a fall from grace from those glory days of the late 1980's...

  82. Champions elect?

    Juventus v Fiorentina (19:45 BST)

    Italian Serie A

    Juventus

It could be a big night elsewhere in Europe.

In Italy, Juventus could seal their fourth consecutive title if results go their way in Serie A.

The Old Lady, who are still chasing a treble, know if they win at home to Fiorentina and Lazio fail to beat Parma, they are the champions.

Surely, with six matches remaining, it is just a matter of time anyway.

  85. Team news

Real Madrid v Almeria (19:00 BST)

With Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema still out injured, Cristiano Ronaldo will be expected to carry the fight for Real Madrid this evening. The big news is the inclusion of Norway's 16-year-old midfielder Martin Odegaard on the substitutes bench.

Real Madrid XI: Keylor Navas; Arbeloa, Varane, Pepe, Coentrao; Kroos, Illarramendi, Rodriguez; Jese, Ronaldo, Hernandez. Subs: Cassillas, Marcelo, Silva, Nacho, Isco, Odegaard, Mayoral

Almeria XI: Ruben; Ximo, Trujillo, Mauro, Mané; Verza, Thomas, Corona; Dubarbier, Hemed, Edgar.

  86. Brilliant Barca

Real Madrid v Almeria (19:00 BST)

    Barcelona

Real probably aren't too hopeful either - after watching Barcelona cruise past Getafe 6-0 last night.

The Catalans have won nine in an unbeaten 10-match run and are looking pretty unstoppable.

Still, they do have to travel to defending champions Atletico.

Not often Real are hoping for a win for their city rivals.

  87. Race for the title

Real Madrid v Almeria (19:00 BST)

    La Liga

First though they have to concentrate on their own job - winning.

Real Madrid know, with five matches remaining and five points behind Barcelona, nothing but victory will do.

Starting tonight at home to Almeria, nothing but perfection will do for Carlo Ancelotti's men.

Then it is all about Barcelona dropping a point somewhere along the run in... Live text all the way this evening.

  88. The Real deal?

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Five wins in a row. Just six domestic defeats all season. Ninety nine goals in 33 La Liga home games.

Real Madrid haven't exactly had a bad season have they?

But even winning their last five league matches might not be enough to secure their first title since 2012.

    They need a favour...
