  1. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

You wait nearly an hour for a Stoke booking, and then two come at once. Now it's left-back Marc Wilson who sees yellow for clattering Swansea's Jack Cork.

Manager Mark Hughes throws his arms up in disbelief; I can only imagine Hughes feels hard done by because Wilson hasn't committed as many fouls as some of his (unpunished) team-mates. Yes, Mame Biram Diouf, I'm looking at you.

  2. Postpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Swansea are starting to create chances now, with Gylfi Sigurdsson missing another. Marvin Emnes holds the ball up well inside the penalty area, with Jonjo Shelvey and then Angel Rangel helping the ball into the path of Sigurdsson, who drags a shot wide from 10 yards. The home side should probably be in front.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Arnautovic now does get his booking, for a relatively innocuous drag back on Angel Rangel. One too many fouls for Craig Pawson's liking, I suspect.

  4. Postpublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Stoke forward Marko Arnautovic is pushing his luck here. First he jumps into Federico Fernandez with an over-physical challenge, and yet there's still no booking from referee Craig Pawson.

Seconds later, Arnautovic goes in with his studs up on Nathan Dyer. It's a nasty one, but the Austria international escapes again. Stoke haven't had a player sent off this season - but Arnautovic is fortunate not to be the first.

  5. CLOSE!published at 16:11 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Things are starting to happen now - and I don't mean with the Royal baby's name.

First, Stoke forward Mame Biram Diouf has a penalty claim rejected as he goes to ground under Federico Fernandez's challenge - and rightly, as it looked like a stumble rather than a foul.

Then at the other end, Nathan Dyer has visiting full-back Erik Pieters "on toast", to quote Match of the Day's Martin Fisher, before crossing for Gylfi Sigurdsson to head over from around eight yards. Sigurdsson, who is having a decent game, should have scored that.

  6. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

The closest we've come to a goal by a mile and then some. Angel Rangel pounces on Marko Arnautovic's slip and feeds Gylfi Sigurdsson on the edge of the area. The Iceland international, such a classy player, sweeps a lovely first-time shot against the bar.

Still no Royal baby name, by the way. However, the Duke of Cambridge has just told the waiting crowds that he's "very happy". And no wonder - Aston Villa are beating Everton 2-0.

    Martin Fisher
Match of the Day commentator at the Liberty Stadium

"There hasn't been a goalless draw between these two sides in south Wales since September 1960. We've had 15 meetings between them since then. But that first half had 0-0 written all over it."

  8. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

The players are back with us at the Liberty Stadium. The second half is off and running. Well, it's off, anyway.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

We have a live text commentary on the Royal baby as well, you know.

(I think the least BBC News can do, now I've linked out to them, is to return the favour.)

I have a feeling we may yet find out the name of the new Royal baby before we get a goal in this game.

If you missed the news, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's second child, a daughter, was born at 08:34 BST.

Alice, Charlotte, Victoria and Elizabeth are among the bookmakers' favourites for the new princess's name. According to Coral, Catherine is 50/1, Anastasia is 200/1, while Kylie and Chardonnay both have odds of 1,000/1.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Stoke's physical play in the first half - particularly from Mame Biram Diouf - rather got up the noses of the Swansea fans, with referee Craig Pawson choosing not to book anyone.

The stats show that Stoke conceded nine fouls to Swansea's four. Both sides. meanwhile, have managed one shot on target.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

And that, without question, is a scoreline that reflects the opening 45 minutes.

  13. Postpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Two minutes of stoppage time signalled. Stoke end the first half on the attack, and Charlie Adam sets up Steven N'Zonzi for a chip from just outside the area, which Lukasz Fabianski arches back to tip over.

  14. Postpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

We've had 42 minutes at the Liberty Stadium, and finally we have a shot on target. More neat build-up play from Swansea ends with Nathan Dyer setting up Jonjo Shelvey to shoot from the edge of the penalty area. Jack Butland, deputising for Asmir Begovic in the Stoke goal today, holds comfortably.

Swansea are temporarily down to 10 men while Marvin Emnes gets ready to replace Nelson Oliveira. With the home side in a little bit of confusion, Charlie Adam collects possession 25 yards out but rolls a harmless shot wide.

  16. Postpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson slots a pass - which may actually have been a mis-hit shot - through to Jonjo Shelvey, whose first-time shot is well saved by Jack Butland. But as Shelvey is offside, it all counts for nought.

Nelson Oliviera, meanwhile, is hobbling about after being caught on the ankle by Marc Wilson. The Portuguese striker is unable to continue, and Marvin Emnes is about to come on.

  17. Postpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

Another firm challenge by Mame Biram Diouf leaves Swansea captain Ashley Williams clutching the side of his head. Diouf is certainly putting himself about, but with no sign of a yellow card coming his way.

  18. Postpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 2 May 2015

It's not very exciting, this game. So I'm looking through the listings at my local cinema instead. I see that new adaptation of Far From The Madding Crowd is on tonight. Mark Kermode was very positive about it on Radio 5 live yesterday. Worth a look, do you reckon?

Swansea are sticking to their passing game, with Nathan Dyer and Gylfi Sigurdsson involved in their best moves. This time Sigurdsson, from Dyer's square pass, almost threads the ball through to Nelson Oliveira, but it just has too much on it, and runs through to Jack Butland.
