While I'm on a pop music theme: BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson's opponent as he predicts this weekend's Premier League fixtures is former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman.

"Swansea have done amazingly well since they came into the Premier League," says Wyman, a Crystal Palace fan. "But Stoke aren't a bad team either, so I'm going for a 1-1 draw." Lawro has gone for the same score.

But Swansea are not the only side at the Liberty Stadium with a little bit of history on their minds. Last season, Mark Hughes led Stoke City to ninth place in the Premier League - their highest finish since 1975, when England's 1966 World Cup hero Geoff Hurst was providing the goals (and the Bay City Rollers were top of the charts, since you ask).

Today, Stoke are ninth again, having been inspired lately by the brilliance of Charlie Adam - but a win today would lift them above Swansea and into eighth with three games left. Stoke's best finish since the 70s? It could happen.

May 1982. The UK top 10 singles chart includes Adam Ant, Hot Chocolate, Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder, and - perhaps most oddly of all - Scotland's World Cup squad. Under John Toshack, Swansea City had just finished sixth in the top flight; the highest final position in their history.

May 2015. The UK top 10 singles chart includes Wiz Khalifa and Maroon 5, while Scotland haven't qualified for a World Cup for nearly two decades. But one thing is almost as it was 23 years ago - under Garry Monk, Swansea City are eighth in the Premier League and on course for their highest finish since Toshack's day.
