  1. As it stands...published at 16:31 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

Hull are absolutely all over Burnley who they trail at the KC Stadium but it's points not pressure that matter at this stage.

If Leicester City win against Southampton and Newcastle United avoid defeat by West Bromwich Albion, while Aston Villa do not lose to West Ham, it doesn't matter what the Clarets do. They will be relegated.

Victor Wanyama, into Sadio Mane, the ball is returned but out rushes Kasper Schmeichel. Too much meat on the through ball, food and drink for the keeper.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

On comes Filip Djuricic for Steven Davis and Shane Long for Eljero Elia.

Davis did not have a great day, completing just 66% of passes in the opposition half. Only Graziano Pelle has a lower reading for Saints so far.

Steven Davis swings in a cross, poor, Robert Huth has cleared 10,000 of them in his career and that one gets the full-boot treatment.

In fairness to Southampton, they have not shirked the fight in this match but they just appear lazy going forward. It's as if thinking is too much like hard work today. Tired minds, not tired legs.

  5. Postpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

Leicester go direct from a free-kick, it misses Wes Morgan, misses Leonardo Ulloa and is partially cleared. Esteban Cambiasso with a back-heel, cut out, it comes back to him... BANG... saved.

A deflection took the sting off it.

  6. Postpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

As Filip Djuricic and Shane Long ready themselves on Southampton's bench, some shocking control from Ryan Bertrand draws howls of laughter as a ball trickles past him for a Leicester throw.

  7. Burnley score...published at 16:21 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

A big goal for Burnley and Danny Ings at the KC Stadium puts Hull City in major trouble. It will still see the Clarets go down unless West Brom find a winner against Newcastle. Follow all the other games here.

Victor Wanyama picks the ball up in midfield but his touch is poor, in keeping with what we are seeing from Southampton. Leicester take yet another Sunday League throw-in, launching one up the line, flicked on by the big man Leonardo Ulloa for someone to chase.

It sets a foundation for an attack and Riyad Mahrez has a pop from inside the area but his volley is well wide.

Jamie Vardy away down the right... no. He's pulled back for a foul on Ryan Bertrand. The striker is red faced as he screams at the referee. Not happy.

Riyad Mahrez needs some treatment after a collision with Harrison Reed. Magic spray time as Filbert the fox - Leicester's mascot - does a jig to keep this survival push going. The bloke pictured has done his bit too...

  11. Postpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

Make no mistake about it, Southampton have had a half-time talking to. Their reshuffle has prompted a much better spell and only a sliding Wes Morgan denies Sadio Mane an opening.

Here is how they line up remember...

We did of course see Matty James taken off on a stretcher and Danny Drinkwater introduced. It looks like Southampton have had a small reshuffle during the break with Victor Wanyama now their only deep-lying midfielder. Steven Davis looks to have pushed on, Harrison Reed sent wide right and Sadio Mane joining Graziano Pelle up front.

  13. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

We are back underway and in an act which typifies the match so far, Jamie Vardy chases down Nathaniel Clyne to force a throw-in. Superb work rate. What a way to remind your side this one is far from over.

  14. Burnley on a downer...published at 16:06 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

As things stand this will be a day to forget for Burnley. They may be drawing at Hull City but with Newcastle picking up a point, Leicester City ahead and Sunderland already with three points in the bag, a point is not enough at the KC Stadium.

There can be no doubting where the Leicester City buzz comes from.

Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez are the only players on the pitch to have covered more than six kilometres in the match. Mahrez - scorer of both goals - leads the way on 6.29km, that's a shade under four miles.

The home side are sloppy distribution wise, with only Marc Albrighton completing 80% of their passes but that's probably a function of the fact they play direct towards Leonardo Ulloa so much.

How are the heart rates? We have two and a half games of the season to go. As it stands Hull are joining Queens Park Rangers and Burnley in the Championship next season. Leicester will be in the Premier League and on this form, probably pushing for the title to be wrapped up by Christmas...

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

And there goes the half-time whistle. I know which dressing room I'd rather be in.

Southampton have the look of a team willing to compete but not overly enthused and unlikely to produce anything out of the ordinary. Leicester in contrast are a side who know they have everything to play for and with momentum on their side, look unstoppable.

What is it they say about momentum though? A cruel mistress. She can turn on a dime with the smallest mistake...

  19. CLOSE!published at 15:52 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

We go into a sixth minute of added time as a result of that Matty James injury and Leicester face a threat in the shape of a Toby Alderweireld free-kick from range. Well fielded by Kasper Schmeichel, tipped over without too much fuss.

  20. Postpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 9 May 2015

As Kasper Schmeichel races to the edge of his area to collect a long ball with Sadio Mane giving chase, Nigel Pearson could be forgiven for patting himself on the back here.

His team, with their usual three central defender and wing-backs, have comfortably dealt with the away side here. Leicester have had six shots, Southampton three. It's been efficient, professional and all-round admirable.
