If proof were needed that this was party-time, the Leicester players are milling around in the tunnel with their children, and will walk out on to the pitch with their little ones in tow.

Hope they snap out of their celebratory mood in time for kick-off, can't see Nigel Pearson being too enamoured with a defeat today.

  2. 'Relief ... and pride too'published at 14:51 British Summer Time 24 May 2015

Nigel Pearson has been giving us his pre-match thoughts too.

Asked whether he felt pride or relief this week, the Foxes manager said: "Both, but relief is the over-riding emotion that I have.

"I've a lot of pride in terms of how the players have been able to stick with what's been a very difficult task, and the staff too.

"We've continued to try and do things the right way. It's been hard and I'm not trying to paper over cracks - it has been an amazing turnaround in the last couple of months.

"But it is all part of the learning process and there have been huge improvements in terms of where we were a couple of months ago and where we are now."

  3. Let's end season on a highpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 24 May 2015

Chris Ramsey has been speaking to the BBC and says his players "want to end the season on a high note".

"It is no secret some players are leaving us so it will a job interview for them, and players that will still be here next season want to make a mark," the QPR boss said.

"It has been a difficult week because there has been a lot of disappointment around the place but the players have been fantastic, as they have been all season, and I think they are looking forward to the game."

Could be a good game this if both teams are going for it.

  4. Postpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 24 May 2015

The tannoy announcer at the King Power has just told supporters that the players will return after the final whistle to do a lap of honour (the Leicester lads that is, not the QPR ones - that would be a bit odd).

He ends with the traditional "but to allow them to do this, please refrain from running on to the pitch".

We shall see whether his words are in vain or not...

  5. Standing inpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 24 May 2015

It's a big day for Alex McCarthy.

The 25-year-old will make only his second start of the season, coming in for Rob Green, who suffered concussion during last week's win over Newcastle.

Speaking to the BBC ahead of the game, McCarthy said it had been "a difficult week" because everyone knows the club has been relegated.

"But we've stuck together and regrouped," he said. "Training has been hard. We've kept our standards high because we know we've got to go again next season."

Asked about opponents Leicester, he said: "Full credit to them. They didn't have much luck in the first half of the season but they kept going and have got to where they are now because of it."

It's not often in life that we get something for nothing, so Leicester fans should be in a good mood today.

The club's owners are dipping into their pockets and buying the first round of beers.

The Foxes secured their Premier League status last week, which prompted vice chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha to announce: "We want to say thank you to our fans for their incredible support this season. "It's been key in the team securing another season in the top flight."

That thank you will involve supporters being given a voucher to claim a beer - or a bottle of water, for the more disciplined - at the King Power Stadium.

QPR fans travelling to Leicester and hoping to drown their relegation sorrows on the cheap will be disappointed though - the offer only extends to home fans.

  7. On for the hat-trick?published at 14:38 British Summer Time 24 May 2015

Joey Barton will, as usual, be at the heart of the QPR midfield today, but will he get the ref working?

    Answer: very probably.

  8. TEAM NEWSpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 24 May 2015

QPR make three changes as boss Chris Ramsey aims to finish a difficult season on a high.

Alex McCarthy makes his second start of the season in goal, replacing the concussed Rob Green. Yun Suk-Young also comes in, along with 18-year-old striker Reece Grego Cox, who makes his full Premier League debut. He's a highly-rated young player so it will be interesting to see how he fares.

QPR line-up: McCarthy, Onuoha, Hill, Dunne, Suk-Young, Phillips, Henry, Barton, Fer, Austin, Grego-Cox.

  9. TEAM NEWSpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 24 May 2015

First up, a spot of team news, starting with the home side...

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has named an unchanged side, which means Jamie Vardy - fresh from his England call-up - will start up front alongside Leonardo Ulloa.

The Foxes are hoping to make it seven wins from their last nine outings at a King Power stadium which will be bouncing after survival was confirmed last weekend courtesy of a goalless draw at Sunderland.

The Foxes' starting line-up: Schmeichel, Morgan, Vardy, King, Albrighton, Huth, Schlupp, Cambiasso, Ulloa, Mahrez, Wasilewski.

  10. Game onpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 24 May 2015

Now some of you more cynical folk might claim there's nothing at all at stake in a game between a side which has already confirmed its safety and a team already relegated.

    And you'd be absolutely right.

But, hey, lighten up will you? It's the final day of the Premier League season, it's a match in which both clubs are expected to go for the jugular and attack and, who knows, it could end up 5-5 and be the lead game on tonight's Match of the Day. Then again...
