Better from Arsenal as Mesut Ozil squares a low ball into the middle of the area for Olivier Giroud. The striker controls with one touch before swinging a shot into the sidenetting. Giroud goes even closer soon after, shooting low towards the near post but good save from Adrian.

Now Mesut Ozil whips in a cross from the left and Adrian sticks out a hand, pushing the ball into middle of the area but where's the Arsenal support!? West Ham defenders have time to clean up the lose ball with no-one putting pressure on them in the box.

Mauro Zarate tries to wriggle his way through four Arsenal players, not happening, and the Gunners pick up the ball and break forward. 

Again a stifling West Ham defence frustrates as Reece Oxford gets in the way of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's shot.

Alexis Sanchez is warming up on the touchline. Meanwhile, it is a positive start to the second half from Arsenal as they push West Ham players back into their own area. The packed Hammers box is frustrating the Gunners, though, as Mathieu Debuchy crosses, only to find the head of a West Ham defender.

What will Arsenal's response be? West Ham get the second half under way.

Out come the Arsenal players...but they are early and spend a good minute or two milling about on the pitch before West Ham's lot stroll out.

Panicking Arsenal fans, here is a stat that should put your mind back at ease. 

Petr Cech had posted the best saves to shots ratio (min. 50 saves) of any goalkeeper in the Premier League over the last three seasons (78%).

He made an error, but the Gunners defence should also have done better in picking up Cheikhou Kouyate.

In the Championship, newly-promoted Preston held last season's beaten Championship play-off finalists Middlesbrough to an uneventful goalless draw at Deepdale.

Boro failed to test home keeper Jordan Pickford, with Grant Leadbitter lashing their best chance wide early on.

Will Keane went closest for North End, with his first-half effort cleared off the line by George Friend.

Fernando Caviedes:  There was never a goalkeeper problem - Ospina had that spot sorted, he saved Arsenal so much. They need a real striker instead.

Usama Zafar:  So, only Manchester United and Aston Villa kept clean sheet

Matthew Penistone:  Coquelin and Giroud doing nothing to keep naysayers quiet. Lacking pace without Bellerin, Walcott and Alexis. Getting bullied.
