  1. Man Utd 0-0 Newcastlepublished at 13:22 British Summer Time 22 August 2015

A decent start for full debutant Bastian Schweinsteiger for Manchester United. The midfielder has made the joint most amount of passes so far, and just two of them have been unsuccessful (shown by the red on the pass map below).

  2. Man Utd 0-0 Newcastlepublished at 13:22 British Summer Time 22 August 2015

    Chris Waddle
BBC Radio 5 live at Old Trafford

"Newcastle had a terrible start but they've grown into the game since. For the first 15 minutes you thought this was going to be a good hiding. But now they're closing down well, pinching balls off Manchester United and are trying to break.

"Steve McClaren is kicking every ball on the sidelines. His side have hit the bar with a header, had a couple of corners... They need to keep this tempo up now."

  3. Hit the big manpublished at 13:19

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

The early zip and pace has gone from the game as Newcastle look very organised and Manchester United look short of ideas. Newcastle's attacks are based on the old faithful - hit the big man and work from there.

Looking like a goalless first half.

  4. Championship latestpublished at 13:13

    Leeds 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

An early goal in the other early game as Sheffield Wednesday take the lead in Leeds. A cracker too as  Marco Matias  beats the Leeds offside trap before flicking it over Charlie Taylor's head and crashing in an unstoppable volley past Leeds keeper Marco Silvestri from 18 yards.

    Bang.

Follow that game in detail here.

  5. Man Utd 0-0 Newcastlepublished at 13:10

The game is opening up now. Seconds after Newcastle hit the bar, Manchester United go close as Memphis Depay rounds international team-mate Tim Krul but the angle is acute and he can't get a shot away. He tries to find Wayne Rooney in the middle but it's cut out. Decent game. Goal coming?

  6. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:08

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

What an effort! A header that Alan Shearer, Duncan Ferguson or Sir Les Ferdinand would be proud of!

Newcastle have barely had a touch in the opposition half but out of nothing Aleksandar Mitrovic gets way above the United defence to fire a header from 15 yards against the frame of the goal. Belting effort. You'll go far son.

Who needs Pedro? This forward unit are working together brilliantly. Memphis and Rooney are world class and will start firing the goals in.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:05

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

Manchester United right-back Matteo Darmian goes in the book for the latest in a lengthy list of early misdemeanors. From what I've seen so far this season - which hasn't been much - the Italian looks like a good signing. Agree?

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:01

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

Well played Tim Krul! Top save down to his left to deny Juan Mata. Manchester United kicking it up a notch.

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

    Chris Waddle
BBC Radio 5 live at Old Trafford

"Manchester United have started very brightly, there's a great tempo. It's all them - their movement has been fantastic. Newcastle are just trying to do a job at the minute, trying to hold them off. They're looking stale - whenever they do get the ball they give it straight back. They're all over the shop."

  12. Postpublished at 12:56

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

A tidy start for Manchester United, but no real threat yet apart from that offside goal for Wayne Rooney - who looked level at worst. Harshly done by perhaps.

Juan Mata hits a free-kick over the wall but Tim Krul easily catches it.

Plenty of pace from Memphis Depay in the early stages - but he's got nothing on this lot.

  15. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 12:49

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

Almost the dambuster for Wayne Rooney, who slots home confidently past Tim Krul. Alas for him the offside flag was already up. A tight call that one...

  16. Postpublished at 12:48

    Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle

Top of Steve McClaren's in-tray must be a solution to Newcastle's dismal away form.

Newcastle have lost seven consecutive Premier League away games, equalling their record from October 1999.

The Magpies haven't lost eight successive league games away from home since a run of nine away losses in October 1977.

And we are off at Old Trafford.

  19. Here they comepublished at 12:42

Man Utd v Newcastle (12:45 BST)

A royal wave from Louis van Gaal to the Old Trafford stands, the teams line up and Wayne Rooney can't get a small mascot to move down the line. Stage fright for the youngster. Memphis Depay at the back of the line, already looking like he owns the place. The arrogance needed for a United number seven?
