It's just worries me that Southampton haven't looked a threat so far. The only time we did was when Sadio Mane ran in behind Watford but he has gone off.

There doesn't appear to be any hard feelings between the pair though as they shared a warm embrace just before kick-off.

The next goal scored at Vicarage Road will be the 100th Premier League goal scored at the home of Watford. 

Watford tally of 58 interceptions after the first two matches of the Premier League was more than any other side.

Analysis

Southampton cannot afford to let any players go. Once you have got your squad together you should close the transfer window. It does distract players, whatever people say.

Mane not for sale

Southampton have had clubs beating down their door and trying to sign the club's players so often it appears manager Ronald Koeman has had enough.

Sadio Mane is the latest of the south coast side's players to be courting admiring glances, with Manchester United rumoured to be targeting the attacking midfielder.

"We know we still have the transfer deadline on 1 September that we have to deal with," Koeman told BBC Radio Solent. "It’s not nice, it’s sometimes difficult, but everybody knows that we don’t sell any more players.

"If they are interested, then maybe they come back next year."

"Southampton play with the ball, they try to play well with quick, fast players on the counter-attack. They sometimes mix their play, so we will need to think about these things."

Welcome

Watford and Southampton - based on the expectation on them - have both had differing starts to the season as they go into this game searching for their first league win of the season.

The Hornets have looked good in their opening two top flight outings as they have drawn with Everton and West Brom.

Southampton were last season's surprise package but followed up a draw at Newcastle with defeat by Everton. They have also played three Europa League qualifiers - the latest seeing them held 1-1 by FC Midtjylland at home.
