  2. What threat to Georgia pose?published at 16:44 British Summer Time 4 September 2015

"The Georgians are currently at a lowly 147th in the Fifa world rankings, writes BBC Scotland's Liam McLeod.

"Incredibly, since that anti-climactic night in October 2007, the Georgians have only won four of their subsequent 35 competitive matches.

"They've also managed to score just once in home competitive internationals in the last three years - Tornike Okriashvili's stunner against the Irish on matchday one in this campaign.

"It's hardly intimidating form. However, it is a Georgia side that Scotland struggled to put away when they ran out 1-0 winners at Ibrox last October..."

  6. 'I expect us to be in France'published at 16:36 British Summer Time 4 September 2015

With four games to go in Group D, Scotland have designs on qualifying automatically. Scotland and Norwich City defender Russell Martin is bullish over the national side's chances of appearing in France next summer.

"I expect us to be in France," he said. "I believe that 100 per cent and I'm sure everyone in the squad would tell you the same.

Russell Martin: "We expect to get there"

"With the position we have put ourselves in now we all expect to get there, it's as simple as that. If we don't we will all be extremely disappointed, but we are confident we have enough in the group.

"I've had loads of people giving us a lot of credit for what we've achieved recently in such a short space of time and the way we play and the way we approach games. Under this manager that won't change so hopefully we can take it to a major tournament and show it there as well."

Rab King Of Scotland: Hopefully, Griffiths, Forrest, Hanley get on at some stage, great to see Anya on from kick-off.

  9. 'A lot has changed'published at 16:27 British Summer Time 4 September 2015

Gordon Strachan was unfazed the other day when asked about the 2-0 defeat in October, 2007.

"A lot has changed since 2007," he told the media conference. "Who would have thought you would have an iWatch in 2007? It's amazing how things can change."

Back then, The Sugababes were number one in the charts with About You Know; the Daila Lama was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal by the US Congress and midfielder Steven Gerrard said it would be "unthinkable" for England to miss out on a place at Euro 2008.

"It's not been easy; I've got a lot of players playing well just now. We know it's going to be a competitive game.

"I have had it all the way through my career when approaching good games that I look forward to, or any game, there is a nervous excitement. So, we are in the same boat.

"It doesn't mean we are apprehensive, it doesn't mean we are scared, it means we are looking forward to it."

  19. How does Group D look?published at 16:02 British Summer Time 4 September 2015

The Scots, after six games in Group D, find themselves in third place, three points behind leaders Poland and two behind world champions Germany.

Strachan insists he doesn't view tonight's clash against Georgia in Tbilisi as a "must win".

However, with a game against the German juggernaut next Monday at Hampden looming on the horizon, maximum points this evening would be just the tonic.
