This time Graziano Pelle does rise highest to reach the cross but for some reason looks to head it down to Jay Rodriguez instead!

More whistles and jeers from the home side now - they think Cuco Martina has passed the ball back to the 'keeper but the replay shows it's a horrific piece of ball control.

Martina's then turned inside and out by Pione Sisto but the cross is wayward - there were real options the box as well. 2-0 and Saints are out of this. 

Oriol Romeu is a lucky boy indeed. Jakob Poulsen is felled on the edge of the box (or was it inside?) but the referee plays on - much to the frustration of the home fans.

Graziano Pelle pops up again but this time in his own box, to head clear from a free-kick. 

Not much momentum about their play at all here, Southampton. Midtjylland are slowing things up and Ronald Koeman's side have got a lot of work to do.

Another James Ward-Prowse shot from distance is blocked. At least it wasn't floated into the mixer? 

It could well be the driving rain, but Ronald Koeman really is looking sour down on the touchline.

Dusan Tadic is straight into it as well, he nicks the ball deep in the Midtjylland half, cuts inside and drives one towards goal. 

It's wide and getting wider though. But what an entrance that would have been!

Now this is bold. Here comes Dusan Tadic on for Steven Caulker. Are Ronald Koeman's side going back to 4-2-3-1?

Either way, Southampton need Tadic to show his best here. We've seen him change games in the past.

Pione Sisto looks a tidy player. Here he is bringing the ball down perfectly and jinking off away from Oriol Romeu and into space. 

Meanwhile, the Koeman brothers are looking pretty grim on the bench.

Hands on hips, what is Graziano Pelle thinking? 

The ball is offered up to him again - deep from Cuco Martina - but there's too many men around him, he's crowded out. Again. 

Really don't get why Southampton are playing like this. Surely they've strengths elsewhere? Like passing the ball?

Hang on Morten Rasmussen, you can't have Duncan on your back if you're going to miss a header like that. 

Brilliant delivery from the free-kick but Rasmussen's header is less Duncan Ferguson and more tame and wide. A let off for Southampton though - he should have done much better with that. 

It's still all about Graziano Pelle for Southampton. They look for him with another long ball but the ref blows up - either a foul because the Italian handled it or because he climbed all over his marker.
