If I was a team in a higher league, I might have a look at Romaine Sawyers at Christmas. He's really caught the eye for Walsall."

    Wayne Rooney (23 mins)

Wayne Rooney has his first domestic goal of the season, profiting from poor Ipswich defending to run in and finish with his left foot. That was clinical.

    Postpublished at 20:22

    Tottenham 0-1 Arsenal

Joel Campbell has put himself about and this must hurt - he goes up for a header and ends up in a trench behind the stands. Ouch.

    He's OK though.

"I think that it is a penalty. There is not much contact but Arsenal keeper David Opsina comes out, doesn't get the ball and Danny Rose has to hurdle him. I think it is a penalty.

    Norwich 0-0 West Brom

Norwich inches away. Gary O'Neil's shot is deflected onto the foot of the post, Elliott Bennett should bury the loose change but panics and scuffs it wide.

    A very poor finish.

  8. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:18

    Tottenham 0-1 Arsenal

Is that a penalty? Danny Rose charges into the box, David Ospina is off his line like a scolded cat and Rose hurdles him as he fires over. Rose clears the keeper, but was there any contact? Not sure.

It's been a great response by Walsall. They could have easily let their heads drop but all of a sudden they're knocking it around nicely and playing the football that they want to play."

Shohidur Rahman: That's what happens when you play your second choice keeper. Poor from Vorm.

Matthew Penistone: Fess up, who had Flamini first goal scorer? Me neither.

Dwight Gayle, who may only get a start in the League Cup this year, has gone close with a low daisy-cutter from 20 yards but it's just wide.

It is poor from Spurs keeper Michel Vorm as he parries the shot back into the danger area. He has got to push it away from goal. Mathieu Flamini is the quickest to react as Tottenham's defenders failed to do so.

  14. goal

GOAL - MK Dons 0-3 Southamptonpublished at 20:11

    Sadio Mane (25 mins)

Tie over? Shane Long controls a ball over the top and plays it across the box towards Sadio Mane, in the process cutting out most of the scrambling Dons defence.

There is still work for Mane to do but he shows composure, moving into a central position before slotting home.

    Mathieu Flamini (26 mins)

He doesn't get many. Minutes, never mind goals. But Mathieu Flamini has now put Arsenal ahead at White Hart Lane. He reacts brilliantly to reach the loose ball after Michel Vorm could only parry Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's shot and put it in the roof of the net.

Big shouts for a Manchester United penalty are waved away by the referee. Was a cross handled by Giles Coke in the area?

  18. Postpublished at 20:07

Andreas Pereira is making his Manchester United debut tonight and hit the post early on - though the flag was up - and has now had a low shot saved. Bright opening.
