Diafra! West Ham's second goalscorer should have had a second himself. With Joe Hart out of goal he fires his angled shot a few yards wide. Diafra Sakho should have done much better.

West Ham will surely kill the game off if they get a third.

Brilliant save by Adrian. City midfielder Yaya Toure uses a combination of quick feet and bulldozing to make his way into the area only to be thwarted by the Hammers keeper as he got his shot away.

Adrian might need new gloves soon.

I told you this would be a long half for West Ham. Raheem Sterling's cross from the left just eludes the head of Sergio Aguero. 

The ball then falls to the feet of Yaya Toure whose shot, which was set to create a hole in the Etihad, is blocked.

So close to an own goal. A cross from the right is almost turned in by West Ham defender Winston Reid. Luckily for him, team-mate Adrian was on hand to make a good low save.

The tempo has been turned up a few notches.

Yaya Toure is trying to lead this City comeback by example. He drives a low angled shot narrowly past the right-hand post of keeper Adrian. This is going to be a long old half for West Ham.

Looking at the heat map from the first-half at the Etihad, you would think there was only one team in it - Manchester City (on the left) have seen a LOT more of the ball in the West Ham half than the visitors have in theirs (on the right). 

The scoreline will tell you that, sometimes, it doesn't matter how much possession you have - especially if you are West Ham and playing away from home.
