West Ham on the attack in these early moments. Diafra Sakho managed to float a cross to the far post, but the delivery was a wee bit too strong for his team-mates

"With rare away wins at Arsenal and Liverpool already under their belts, West Ham can travel to European under-achievers Manchester City with a spring in their step.
"However, West Ham's journey home might be rather less jaunty as Manchester City have won their last 11 Premier League games - the joint-third longest winning streak in the league's history - and haven't conceded a league goal in approaching 10 hours.
"Add to that West Ham's fairly hopeless recent record at the Etihad - seven consecutive defeats, three goals scored and 20 conceded - and the odds would appear to be heavily in the home side's favour."

"Kevin de Bruyne is some player. He's not shy, he likes to get on the ball and he likes to make things happen. He gets the ball all over the field, covering every blade of grass to try and make things happen.
"De Bruyne obviously didn't get on with Jose Mourinho when he was at Chelsea and didn't like his style of playing. It's not nice - I've experienced that. And it's not good for the dressing room if other players know a manager and a footballer don't get on."

"Dimitri Payet has such calmness and composure. He's been a wonderful signing for the Hammers. It took Bilic five days of sustained effort to get him - he told the owners he just had to have him in his squad."

West Ham make three changes from the team that beat Newcastle on Monday. Adrian returns in goal after his suspension and Pedro Obiang and Carl Jenkinson come in for Cheikhou Kouyate and Angelo Ogbonna.
West Ham: Adrian, Jenkinson, Tomkins, Reid, Cresswell, Obiang, Noble, Lanzini, Payet, Moses, Sakho
Subs: Randolph, Collins, Oxford, Antonio, Carroll, Zarate, Jelavic

The line-up is still worth about £300m without David Silva and is the Premier League's most expensive starting XI.
Kevin De Bruyne and Nicolas Otamendi both make their first starts for Manchester City - Otamendi is in for skipper Vincent Kompany, who suffered a calf injury against Juventus on Tuesday. And you saw a few moments ago Jesus Navas is in for the unfortunate Silva.
Sergio Aguero is fit to start up front for Manchester City after recovering from the knee injury he sustained last week against Crystal Palace.
Man City: Hart, Sagna, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov, Toure, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Sterling, Silva, Aguero
Subs: Caballero, Maffeo, Demichelis, Fernando, Navas, Bony, Iheanacho

Apparently, the Manchester City first XI is the first £300m-plus line-up in English football history.
That's all good and well, but can they do it on a pleasant early Saturday evening in Manchester in September against West Ham?*
We wait to see.
Let us remember this is a Hammers side who swept aside Newcastle last Monday and have a player in Dimitri Payet who could be one of the buys of the season. The midfielder cost £10m - which is £100 in old football money.
*City have beaten West Ham in their last seven home meetings.
