  1. 'Vardy is everything you want in your team'published at 11:59

Leicester v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

He is the top goalscorer in the Premier League with nine goals, but how good is Leicester's Jamie Vardy?

Chris Sutton, who helped take Blackburn to the Premier League title in 1994-95, gave his opinion on BBC Radio 5 live.

“His link-up play could be better, but he is confident, he has pace and a real natural effort to his finishing," said Sutton. "He is everything you want in your team at the moment.

“Would he get in the Arsenal team, I’m not sure. Would he get in Manchester City’s or Manchester United’s? No. But if he carries on this form then he has to go to the Euros.”

    Remember this man?

Of course you do (if you are of a certain era). Italy striker Toto Schillachi did not play his first season in Serie A until he was 25 and was also a latecomer to international football but, after starting the 1990 World Cup on the bench, he went on to become the tournament's top scorer and a national hero.

Can ex-Fleetwood man Jamie Vardy go the same way for England? Ian Wright thinks so.

Now I understand that Jamie Vardy is having a great season so far and all credit to the Leicester striker for bagging nine goals to go to the top of the Premier League scoring charts.

But surely he's not up there with the talents of Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller and Bracelona forward Neymar.

Asked by a reporter if Vardy should be considered with that calibre of player, to be fair to Claudio Ranieri, the Foxes boss played down any such comparisons.

"It is too early to say this," said Ranieri.

"It is the first year he showed his attitude in the Premier League. If he can continue in this way it will be fantastic."

Who would've thought Leicester v Crystal Palace would be a battle between fourth and fifth but, after storming starts to the season, it is and deservedly so based on the performances of both teams.

Leicester are fourth and are the comeback kings having won seven points from losing positions this season, more than any other top-flight side.

Palace have won nine of their 12 away league games under manager Alan Pardew. We'll see who prevails...

Chelsea striker Diego Costa tells Football Focus he won't change his combative style.

"Don't put wings on me, I am no angel."

Chelsea's Diego Costa, 27, has been criticised for his aggressive approach but says he has achieved so much because of the way he plays and will not "change because of other people's opinions".

The Brazil-born Spain international striker believes every player changes during competitive games, doing "everything to win" for their team.

Watch more from Diego Costa on Football Focus - at 12:10 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website.

  10. Monk allowed to grow as a managerpublished at 11:12

Aston Villa v Swansea (15:00 BST)

Asked about speculation Swansea chairman wants to bring in a more experienced figure to work alongside him, the club's manager Garry Monk played down such reports.

"The chairman is fantastic," said Monk, whose side have gone five Premier League games without a win for the first time since October 2014.

"He is very supportive of what I do and lets me get on with it.

"The good thing about this club and working with him is that he allows me to grow as a manager. He's done that since day one.

"We have regular chats about numerous things because he is the chairman of the club.

"He likes to see what's going on, but he sees how I work, he sees the commitment and effort I put in and the quality of what we are doing and he supports it."

Stephen Dufty: Watching Grimsby Town concede five goals at home to Burnley and still win the game 6-5 that was a crazy game. The bloke in front said Grimsby will win this game because Burnley weren't finishing their chances. They scored five goals and the scary thing is I was obliged to agree.

George Stafford: I went to Everton vs Manchester United last weekend and there were a few Hull City fans walking around in full kit. I am convinced they turned up to the wrong ground!

Michael Lloyd: Every single home game when Lee Clark was manager of Birmingham City was a confusing experience.

  14. 'It is a sinking ship at Aston Villa'published at 10:57 British Summer Time 24 October 2015

Aston Villa v Swansea (15:00 BST)

It is only October. Surely too early to talk about sides being relegated. Well, Jermaine Jenas has already written Aston Villa off.

“I don’t think they will be in the Premier League next season," Jenas told BBC Radio 5 live. "They had better players last year. It is a sinking ship, unfortunately, at Aston Villa.

“It’s a massive club but for Tim Sherwood to think they will be in the league next year is very optimistic.”

Aston Villa v Swansea (15:00 BST)

Right let's move on to today's games shall we. Now, you don't need to go too far in Premier League world to find a manager under pressure and one of those at the moment is Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood.

He led his side to the FA Cup final last season and steered them to Premier League safety but, after one point from the last eight games, he is under the cosh going into today's game at Swansea.

"I am telling the players it's a must-win because we need to win a game sooner or later," he said.

"This is a cup final. Forget Wembley last season, this is a cup final.

"It isn't a bigger game in my mind, it's the next one, but it is a massive game, not only for me but for them as well.

"They all want to be Premier League footballers and this club needs to be in the Premier League. I know we will be and they need to know we will be. They will only do that by winning games and getting that confidence."

Giannina Caraceni: First time I took my little brother to an U8s game, they counted it as a goal whether or not it was in the right net.

Reuben Watt: Easily Crawley Town v MK Dons as Crawley's only goalkeeper got injured and so we had to put Matt Harrold in goal.

Ewan Lury: Chelsea 2-0 up against lowly Bradford. The rest was history. Four goals to Bradford, weirdest day ever.

  20. 'Defoe guarantees goals'published at 10:32

Sunderland v Newcastle (12:00 GMT, Sunday)

Sunderland are winless in nine games in the Premier League this season, but Jermaine Jenas says that will change when they start using Jermain Defoe in his best position.

"Defoe is one of the best players and I would put him as one of the best goalscorers I’ve seen and played with," said Jenas on BBC Radio 5 live. "But he is not playing up front. They have chucked him on the left wing.

“What he is, is a dying breed, but you need goals and he guarantees that so you keep playing him.”
