Chelsea evidently did not put any staff forwards for the ladies and gentleman of the press then this afternoon.

They'll get fined for that (I think). Though that is hardly a novelty for the guys at the Bridge is it?

    Arsenal 2-1 Everton

    BBC Radio Merseyside

Former Everton winger Ronnie Goodlass: "It's about keeping that belief. You need a bit of luck, and Everton are back in the game. At 2-0 you wonder what is going to happen to Everton but Ross Barkley has taken the shot on and sometimes it's not going to fly in the top corner but you get rewarded for trying it."

    Ross Barkley (44 mins)

Everton find a way back into the game in the driving north London rain. Ross Barkley runs at the Arsenal defence, shoots left-footed and the ball takes a huge deflection off Gabriel and loops in.

    Arsenal 2-0 Everton

    BBC Radio Merseyside

Former Everton winger Ronnie Goodlass: "You have got to look at Tim Howard. It's four yards out and he's come flapping for it. He has to be anticipating a cross like that. If he can't punch a ball that's a few yards of him you've got to ask questions."

Bishop Yinkus: What an assist, what a goal. A pinpoint cross from Ozil and a fine finish from Giroud.

James William Dingle: Make no mistake, Ozil is world class. World class.

Nameeb Itmaam: Everton falling apart. Howard should really start trying to punch the ball.

    Arsenal 1-0 Everton

    BBC Radio Merseyside

Former Everton winger Ronnie Goodlass: "That's why Olivier Giroud is in the side and he's taken it well. It was a great ball in from Mesut Ozil, but why Everton's players allowed him to go in on his left foot. You don't allow him come on to his stronger foot."

  13. goal

    Olivier Giroud (36 mins)

Arsenal break the deadlock and it's Olivier Giroud with the deftest of headers from Mesut Ozil's cross. Lovely finish.

  16. Sending off was keypublished at 18:03

    West Ham 2-1 Chelsea

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic told BBC Sport: “We are delighted. We are playing good. It was important for us to do it against the champions and in front of our fans. It feels like a perfect day for us.

“On the disallowed goal, nobody can say Cesc Fabregas was onside and nobody can say he was off. It was very tight. It was a very tough decision for the referee. You have to freeze the picture and you’re still not sure. Chelsea had a point but if it was given, we would have had a point to complain.

"The red card looked quite clear, the two bookings were bookings. It had a major impact on the game."

    BBC Radio Merseyside

Former Everton winger Ronnie Goodlass: "John Stones should hit the target. It wasn't the best cross in the world, but with the conditions the Arsenal goalkeeper has palmed it. However, Stones just couldn't finish it off cleanly."
