  1. 'Newcastle lack leadership'published at 10:28

Sunderland v Newcastle (12:00 GMT, Sunday)

The Manchester derby will not be the only local battle in Premier League town this weekend as Sunderland host rivals Newcastle tomorrow.

Newcastle have conceded 19 goals in nine Premier League games and former Blackburn and Chelsea striker Chris Sutton is not impressed.

“Newcastle haven’t cracked it yet and at the back they are still woeful. They lack leadership at the back,” said Sutton on BBC Radio 5 live.

Tony Ryles: Southampton v Everton when Fabrice Fernandes scored an equaliser in the 91st minute and made it 3-3, I was that happy I left the ground thinking Saints had won......it wasn't until I tried to cash in an accumulator in the bookies that I had realised it was a draw.

Chris Bryan: Man City v CSKA Moscow in the champions league. No away fans so when CSKA scored, a weird hush fell around the stadium. Very strange.

Lee Allen: Sheffield United v Scunthorpe United about five ago, it was the most one-sided game as the Blades dominated. We hit the bar numerous times and yet lost 4-0 to Scunny.

Sporting Khalsa used to be known locally as the club with a curry house.

But the West Midlands team have come a long way since their formation in 1991 and can make history on Saturday by reaching the first round of the FA Cup for the first time.

It will not be easy against the relative giants of FC United of Manchester but, whatever happens at the Aspray Arena, it will be another chapter in a remarkable story. Read about it here.

Don't forget you can follow live FA Cup qualifying coverage of all the afternoon's matches here on BBC Sport online from 12:00 BST.

The Daily Express has a different take on the Manchester derby as it focuses on Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal warning his players they cannot brag about being better than neighbours City until they have brought the Premier League title back to Old Trafford.

Who knew there was a rule against booing the Champions League anthem?

Well, there is - apparently - as Manchester City are finding out.

Boss manager Manuel Pellegrini though has defended his club's fans after a Uefa disciplinary case was opened against them for booing the tune.

"I don't know why Uefa think this about our fans," said Pellegrini. "They pay for tickets and, with respect, can express what they feel."

  7. 'Boring, boring United?published at 10:00

Manchester United v Manchester City (Sunday, 14:05 GMT)

Manchester United may have scored three goals in four of their last five Premier League matches, but former England international Jermaine Jenas is not a fan of their style of play.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 live, Jenas added: "Sometime when I watch them everyone looks rigid and does not seem free on the pitch.

“Only Juan Mata makes things happen. I haven’t seen anything from Memphis, Wayne Rooney is not in form and Anthony Martial made a great start but has plateaued. It seems a bit too boring.

“I would always play Michael Carrick and Morgan Schneiderlin. United are desperate for someone like Schneiderlin to always play. I watched them against Arsenal and I’ve never seen such an immobile midfield."

  8. Pellegrini punishing Kompany?published at 09:53

Man Ud v Man City (Sunday, 14:05 GMT)

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini may say he is not punishing captain Vincent Kompany but BBC Radio 5 live pundit Jermaine Jenas disagrees.

“Kompany is part of their best 11 and I personally think there is an issue," said Jenas.

"Pellegrini wasn’t happy that he had picked up the injury and then he played with Belgium. Maybe Pellegrini is saying 'that was unacceptable'.”

Dan Addy: When Peter Taylor decided that Luke Oliver, a CB, was our first choice striker at Bradford. Bizarre.

Jordan Niner: MK Dons vs Leeds. Leeds were 2-0 up and cruising, MK Dons had a player sent off then went and scored and looked like they had 12 men on the pitch, they were all over us the last 20 minutes!

Michael Lloyd: Every single home game when Lee Clark was manager of Birmingham City was a confusing experience.

  10. 'I'm not punishing Kompany'published at 09:44

Man Utd v Man City (Sunday, 14:05 GMT)

Despite Vincent Kompany's starting place making plenty of headlines, Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini says he has a good working relationship with the Belgium international.

Kompany remained on the bench against Sevilla until he replaced matchwinner Kevin de Bruyne in injury time, with Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala named at the heart of the home defence.

The Belgian had missed club games in the run-up to the international break with a calf problem and his manager thought Kompany would also miss Belgium's final two Euro 2016 qualifiers, only for the 29-year-old to feature for almost an hour of the 3-1 win over Israel on 13 October.

"I'm not punishing Vincent," said Pellegrini. "I don't have a problem in my relationship with Vincent.

"It was important for him to work some days before he returns to the team and we need to choose the best starting XI.

"Mangala and Otamendi are doing well."

One of the big talking points ahead of the Manchester derby is the place of City centre-back Vincent Kompany.

The centre-back is fit again but was on the bench in his side's midweek Champions League win over Sevilla and there's no guarantee that he'll be back in manager Manuel Pellegrini's starting line-up on Sunday.

  13. 'City are favourites'published at 09:25

Man Utd v Man City (Sunday 14:05 GMT)

One of the big games of the weekend is the derby between Manchester United and rivals Manchester City on Sunday.

It seems United boss Louis Van Gaal is getting involved in a bit of mind games before the game. He says City are the favourites, despite the match taking place at Old Trafford.

City have won six of the last eight derbies, dating back to 2011's 6-1 win and Van Gaal feels the Blues' status as Premier League leaders means they should be regarded as favourites to extend their run of derby success.

He said: "They are first. We are third. There's a goal difference. A points difference. They are the favourite."
