And that is indeed that folks.

    Good night.

  2. 'Young, exciting Spurs'

    Totetnham 4-1 West Ham

Tottenham defender Kyle Walker, speaking to BBC Sport: "It's always good to get a win over your rivals and to get on the scoresheet was even better. My little boy was mascot today as well, so scoring a goal meant a little bit more, too.

"It’s exciting. We've got a young squad, and you can see they are full of confidence and can play football. For English football it’s even better. Full credit to the gaffer, he has come in here and put his stamp on things, and it's rubbing off on us.

"At the start of the season top four was the aim. But we need to keep doing what we are doing, to keep the unbeaten run going would be nice."

On Harry Kane: "It was only a matter of time. H is a proven goalscorer and was always going to continue his form into this year. We all had faith in him but most importantly he had faith in himself. When he is playing well he is unstoppable."

  3. Post update

    Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

Still one more game to come in another unpredictable Premier League weekend.

Crystal Palace face Sunderland in Monday's night game. Even a win would not be enough to lift the Black Cats out of the relegation zone.

  4. 'They were better than us'

    Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic, speaking to BBC Sport: "The performance matches the result to be fair. They were better than us. Up until the first goal they were pressing but we also had some chances. After the first goal it lifted them, we went in a bit of shock. But I said this to the guys, 2-0 down at half-time, we were still in it and needed to score a goal, to raise our game, be more hungry, but the third goal, which came out out of our mistake, it just killed us, and it could have been worse.

"We just couldn’t produce on the pitch. They were more a team. They were, especially physically, quicker and stronger and better in transitions. To be fair of course we played a really bad game but they played a really good game and we have to give some credit for this.

"They wanted it more today than in a normal game, but we simply were not good enough to get anything out of that game, other than being defeated."

    Slaven Bilic
  5. Post update

    Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

Slaven Bilic says that the third goal killed the game and 'to be fair it could have been more.'

The West Ham boss looks thoroughly cheesed off after that display. Write it off Slaven, and go again.

West Ham's next test is at home to West Brom next weekend.

  6. 'An amazing show'

    Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to BBC Sport: "I am very pleased with the performance and with the players. Congratulations to them. It was an amazing show and I feel very proud. We all feel very proud.

"The most important thing is that the players believe in the way we play and we share the same philosophy. Today was a big step forward because it was a very good example of how we want to play, and how we want to play in the future.

"I think it is one of the best performances and results this season. It was a fantastic game. But the next game is always the challenge. Our objective is step by step. We are still very young and need to improve but it is important to keep the same mentality.

"We are the youngest team in the Premier League but it is not about your age but belief. When you see a performance like that, it is because the team believes."

On Harry Kane: "When you are a striker, there are always tough periods but I never had doubts about Harry Kane. He is a top player. He is one of the best strikers in the Premier League."

  7. Post update

    Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

Nobody in a Spurs shirt seems prepared to say that they can challenge for a top-four spot. But how far can this young side go?

  8. 'Fantastic'

    Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

    Harry Kane

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a high level performance. It was fantastic and we feel very proud. It was a brilliant effort. We showed how we can play and we need to keep the whole season the performance that we showed. Fantastic, fantastic show against a very good team like West Ham.

"Our plan was always to press the opponent and this is our way, our philosophy. We try to build from the back with the ball and we share all together that philosophy now – this is the most important thing. I never doubted Harry Kane.

"Always a striker has difficult periods but Harry is top. We have a very good squad and are happy in the way we work every day.

"Dele Alli can play like a number 10 or central midfielder, he feels comfortable in both positions, depending on the plan that we have. For us the table is not important. The way that we play is important, to develop our philosophy. Today we shared that and believed in the way that we worked."

  9. Post update

Here is Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

  13. 'We're not getting excited'

    Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

    Eric Dier

Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier, speaking to Sky Sports: "Hopefully I've adapted to this new position. Hopefully I can keep playing well, the team can keep playing well and Harry can keep scoring goals. I'm happy there but it's up to the manager. If he said to play anywhere else then I would.

"We are going game by game. We're not getting excited. We know that if we can perform like we did today we'll get wins and will be pushing right up to the top, so we'll just keep on doing that."

  14. 'We came out flying'

    Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

Tottenham striker Harry Kane, speaking to Sky Sports: "That was probably the best performance we have had this season. The whole week training has been incredible and we just tried to put that out on the pitch. We came out of the traps flying.

"As a striker when your confidence is high you feel like you're going to score every game. Today I could have had a couple more, but the most important thing is we're winning by playing well.

  25. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

It's been the Premier League's usual intoxicating brew of great goals, awful defending and individual clangers this afternoon. Textbook stuff.

Ryan Mason is a coat of paint away from a sixth goal as his shot from 22 yards beats Adrian for pace and kisses the outside of the post.

    Jermaine Jenas

"Brilliant finish! I've been praising Kyle Walker but this goal came from his mistake. It was a brilliant bit of skill by Manuel Lanzini though.

"When we saw Mauricio Pochettino waving his arms around on the touchline, it's because of moments like those - earlier in the game they can cost you."

  27. GOAL - Tottenham 4-1 West Ham

    Manuel Lanzini (87 mins)

It's no consolation really but the few West Ham fans who remain inside the Lane do at least see a goal. Nikica Jelavic holds it up well before finding Manuel Lanzini overlapping on his left. The angle is tight but Lanzini lashes home left-footed at the near post. Right into the roof of the net. Think Giggs, FA Cup semi.

    Kyle Walker celebrates
  30. GOAL - Tottenham 4-0 West Ham

    Kyle Walker (83 mins)

And it is now four as Spurs walk through a snoozing West Ham defence. Christian Eriksen finds Kyle Walker overlapping on the right, West Ham don't offer even token resistance and the former Sheffield United man carries the ball to the edge of the area.

He plays it to Son Heung-min, he lays it back to the full-back and the England man provides a superb finish, outside of the boot, 16 yards out, top corner. Thrashing.

  31. GREAT SAVE!

    Tottenham 3-0 West Ham

Should be four! Aaron Creswell loses his bearings and heads the ball straight to Ryan Mason inside the penalty area, his volley is saved by Adrian and Mason then can only shovel the rebound straight back at the Hammers keeper.

  32. SUBSTITUTION

  56. GOAL - Tottenham 3-0 West Ham

    Harry Kane (50 mins)

A terrible goal from West Ham's point of view, tired 5-a-side stuff. Adrian rolls it out to James Tomkins, who doesn't really want it. His pass out is awful, Christian Eriksen intercepts and findsHarry Kane22 yards out. Kane hits the shot hard and true, but it's central and Adrian rather dives over the bouncing ball.

Another neat Spurs attack down the left sees them work it across the pitch, as they tee it up for Dele Alli on the edge of the D. Ex-Spurs and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

"Christian Eriksen's delivery is an absolute peach. Maybe the defending could have been better, but against the quality of the ball and the timing of the run, there isn't much you can do."

  78. GOAL - Tottenham 2-0 West Ham

    Toby Alderweireld (33 mins)

Easy as you like. Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld makes a smart move to the near post, Andy Carroll doesn't track him and it's a simple header from an inswinging corner.

As a colleague points out, that wouldn't happen under Big Sam...

West Ham do look to have pushed Diafra Sakho a bit closer to Andy Carroll and twice in a minute or so they nearly get beyond the final Spurs defender. Toby Alderweireld defends really well to see it out for a corner.

"West Ham will have been delighted with the first 20 minutes of this game but they need to get someone closer to Andy Carroll now. Other than from set-pieces, they haven't really threatened.

"It was a bit of a scrappy start but Spurs were perhaps the more progressive of the two sides, so they deserve their lead."

    Tottenham 1-0 West Ham

Spurs would move to within two points of rivals Arsenal with a win this afternoon and that goal has certainly led to an increase in tempo. Jan Vertonghen is the latest man to threaten with a dipping strike from 25 yards - but it's over.

  84. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Tottenham 1-0 West Ham

So close! West Ham rock the crossbar within a minute of the restart. Mark Noble's shot is blocked, the ball ricochets up and Cheikhou Kouyate acrobatically volleys the shot against the crossbar! From the resultant corner Andy Carroll heads down and again Kouyate is close to turning it in.

Good game on the brew now...

"Harry Kane hasn't done much today but the minute the ball fell to him you knew exactly what the end result would be, A striker's finish. That is what he's on the pitch to do. One chance, put it in the back of the net.

"People might have been doubting him at the stat of this season, but it's testament to that lad's mentality that he keeps putting them away."

  86. GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 West Ham

    Harry Kane (23 mins)

Buried! It's weak defending but Harry Kane was absolutely ruthless to dispatch his 11th goal in 14 London derbies.

Spurs work the ball nicely into the feet of Dele Alli on the fringe of the penalty area, his shot is blocked but falls for Kane with his back to goal. He rolls Carl Jenkinson far too easily and then hammers home left footed. Nearly took the net out.

"It's a fantastic save because it took an deflection on the way through. A great strike from Christian Eriksen, on his weaker side, too.

"Better from Spurs - that all came from stretching West Ham as wide as they could, then moving the ball quickly."

  88. GREAT SAVE!

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

There we go! The first real moment of danger in the game draws a fine save from Hammers keeper Adrian.

Eric Dier receives the ball 30 yards out in a central area, he thinks about the shot but instead lays it off to Christian Eriksen and he hammers a left-footed swerving shot which forces the West Ham keeper into a flying save.

    Well struck!

Spurs seem determined not to cross the ball as they try and work an intricate triangle on the edge of the box, but Kyle Walker does then deliver a good ball which is cleared. West Ham counter at pace - for the first time - and Diafra Sakho almost finds Andy Carroll in the middle.

Daily Telegraph journalist Henry Winter: "Liverpool are buying into Jurgen Klopp and his tactics. The players adore him, partly for his demeanour but also his reputation. The fans have clearly responded to him."

Ex-Newcastle boss John Carver: "It is nice seeing a manager smiling all the time. When I get my next job I will be more like Mr Klopp. It was  magnificent result. I feel sorry for Brendan Rodgers as everyone is getting on the back of teams pressing. MOTD2 Extra

England forward Eniola Aluko: "Jamie Vardy is very deliberate. He always runs ahead of the ball. He is a different forward to what we see in the Premier League. He is quick and direct. That is what Leicester need to be like: direct, hard-working and energetic. Vardy represents that."

Ex-Newcastle boss John Carver: "As a team they have so much energy. they are hard working and honest. No superstars but they have made good signings. They are well organsied. Nigel Pearson did a fantastic job but the 'Tinkerman' has taken them to the next level. Vardy would chase a paper bag in the wind."

Daily Telegraph journalist Henry Winter: "The best compliment to Vardy was the appreciation of the Newcastle fans. What you see in Vardy is what every fan wants. When he takes the shirt off it will be soaking in sweat from the effort he puts in. They want to see that in their own players. It would be one of the most extraordinary stories of all time if Leicester win the league. I don't think it will happen."
