West Ham's task looks steep, especially when you consider the fact that Spurs have lost just two of their last 19 Premier League home matches (W11 D6 L2).

Danny Matthews: Gotta love what Poch has done with this Spurs side. Has an identity and is full of English talent.

Philippa Dasher: Harry Kane's miss there was horrendous. Another hyped up English footballer with an absolutely diabolical level of technique.

"A lot of positives for Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino can be delighted. The one thing he may well say in criticism is stop taking risks, but there's been some outstanding performances. 

"For West Ham, they do look dangerous when Diafro Sakho comes into the box with Andy Carroll, it's just a matter of how to find that combination more often."

Tottenham will move three points ahead of West Ham and clearly into fifth place if the result stays the same after 90 minutes this evening. 

The Hammers have attacking options in Mauro Zarate, Nikica Jelavic and Michail Antonio on the bench. Can one of them change it?

Slaven Bilic said before the game that he would have to see how his side coped without their best player, Dimitri Payet. But it has been at the back where they have struggled. Some really poor defending has cost West Ham.

I may be wrong but I recall Harry Kane fluffing a similar chance earlier in the season when clear through on goal. Maybe he's an instinct man, time is not his friend.

And that's an equally poor strike at the other end from Andy Carroll, putting into Row K from 20 yards.

Should be game over, it's a horrible miss from Harry Kane!

Dele Alli is again involved as he sends his England team-mate in on goal, exposing a criminally-high line from West Ham. Kane away and clear, all the time in the world to pick his spot but he fluffs his lines spectacularly, shanking a left-footed effort horribly wide.

"That was really good play, by Spurs. They're showing more of the killer instinct they didn't have at the Emirates against Arsenal a few weeks ago. 

"They're sensing they can finish this game off, that they should go for the jugular before West Ham can make changes at half-time."

Tottenham's opener involved 15 passes, with a couple of West Ham blocks sandwiched in between.

Harry Kane has now scored in four successive Premier League appearances for the second time in his career and bagged six goals in his last four.

Ah that would have been a really good goal! Christian Eriksen starts it with a nutmeg on the left wing, he plays it inside to Dele Alli. Alli finds Son Heung-min, who turns his man and toe-pokes a shot which Adrian can't hold, and Alli heads the rebound against the crossbar.

"Come on you SPPPUURRRRSSS!" rings out around the Lane. Spurs were sluggish for 20 minutes, they are anything butnow.

"Christian Eriksen's delivery is an absolute peach. Maybe the defending could have been better, but against the quality of the ball and the timing of the run, there isn't much you can do."

On current form that would undoubtedly be England's front two - right?

Dele Alli is making a strong case to start for England too. But I'm sure Roy Hodgson - who is at the Lane today - will find a place for them somewhere...
