"I think confidence has always been the issue with Romelu Lukaku.

"His touch and hold-up play is so improved - in previous seasons we kept seeing ball bouncing off him.

"But even with fluctuating confidence he still scored 20 goals last year. He's still only 22 years old!"

    Aston Villa 0-0 Watford

Aston Villa are looking dangerous on the break.

Again Micah Richards drives into midfield and his through ball sets Jordan Ayew down the right channel.

His low shot is easy for goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

  4. 'Well done Raheem Sterling!'published at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2015

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Everton winger on Final Score

"Sterling did brilliantly. Yoshida is trying to get back into a defensive position but Sterling just held onto the ball for a moment and was then able to pick out De Bruyne with the perfect cross. Well done Raheem Sterling!"

Newcastle lead and it's Papiss Cisse's first goal since the opening day of the season. Daryl Janmaat floats in a cross, Cisse is on the margin of off/onside and takes advantage of teh space to head home off the base of the post.

    Sunderland 0-0 Stoke

Big defending from Sunderland's Younes Kaboul as he lunges in to clear a low cross across the face of goal. Sam Allardyce will love that blood and guts defending.

  7. Postpublished at 15:08

    Aston Villa 0-0 Watford

Aston Villa enjoy a bit of pressure. Alan Hutton is too anxious though as he gets himself offside on the right.

A decent through ball by Micah Richards and, if he held his run, he would have been in.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Newcastle

Palace as energetic and enterprising as usual, Jason Puncheon fizzing in a dangerous cross which Rob Elliot does well to push away from danger. Lively start at Selhurst Park.

  10. CLOSE!published at 15:06

    Man City 0-0 Southampton

Manchester City go closeImage source, Reuters

So close to the opener for Manchester City! Aleksander Kolarov's curling free-kick is tipped down by the flying Maarten Stekelenburg, and three sky blue shirts are on him in a flash. Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho are both close to bundling the ball over the line but the Dutch keeper just about gathers the ball in.

    Sunderland 0-0 Stoke

Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce is chewing furiously on the Black Cats bench as he watches a cagey start.

A win could lift his side out of the drop zone.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Newcastle

Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye is having his touches booed by the Newcastle fans. For what? Having the temerity to join PSG?

  13. CLOSE!published at 15:02

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

Good start for the Cherries as Junior Stanislas tees up former Everton midfielder Dan Gosling but he miskicks and fluffs his shot wide. Decent opening!

  14. Postpublished at 15:03

    Aston Villa 0-0 Watford

Aston Villa really need to win this.

No Premier League team has ever avoided relegation having accumulated five points or fewer after 13 games of a season.

They have exactly that. Not a great start though as Watford's Troy Deeney blazes over from 20 yards.

  15. Postpublished at 15:01

    Man City 0-0 Southampton

Very early chance at the Etihad - City start an attack deep inside their own half with Yaya Toure switching the ball out wide. They move it quickly and directly, the ball finding Raheem Sterling powering into the area and he produces a finish we're becoming familiar with. Low, left-footed, too close to the keeper. Easy save.

Newcastle manager Steve McClarenImage source, Reuters

Newcastle from boss Steve McClaren was not too pleased with his side's 3-0 home defeat by Leicester last weekend and expects more fight from his side at Crystal Palace today.

"My swearing went right out of the window - but that's football and that's typical." said McClaren.

"Each week is different and you have to respond differently, and last week was definitely a different response. It's been a normal week after what was a very disappointing result and performance last Saturday, a bad weekend.

"But I have had a great week on the training field - I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's been feisty, competitive, intense, energetic - all the things we were lacking last Saturday."
