    Bournemouth 0-1 Everton

Simon Francis has got forward well from right-back so far today. He manages to win a couple of corners in quick succession, but both are defended stoutly by Everton.

    Bournemouth 0-1 Everton

Bournemouth pile forward in search of an equaliser, but they give the ball away cheaply and Everton immediately threaten on the break. A poor touch by Gerard Deulofeu allows the hosts to snuff out the counter.

"That was coming. It's a poor goal to concede from Bournemouth's perspective, but in the last 10 minutes Everton have been right at it. A simple goal really."

Well, it had been coming. Everton get their fifth corner, it's swung in from the left, and Ramiro Funes Mori rises highest to plant a header into the top-left corner. Joshua King was stationed on the post but couldn't keep it out.

  5. CLOSE!published at 22 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

And from the corner Everton go close again! Lukaku thumps a header goalward and Federici parries to safety at the second attempt.

  6. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

A bad error from Simon Francis almost allows Arouna Kone to give Everton the lead. The defender gets his angles all wrong and puts a defensive header right into the strike zone of the Ivorian, whose firmly hit drive from an angle is parried behind by Adam Federici.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

Well, Federici is going to try and soldier on for the moment, but I'm not convinced. He's hobbling about pretty gingerly, and you'd imagine Everton won't be shy about testing him out. The substitute keeper, by the way, is Ryan Allsop, who has never played a Premier League game.

Looking at the replays, Federici came down awkwardly on his ankle. I'm not sure he's going to be able to continue.

Gerard Deulofeu tries to get the better of Charlie Daniels down the right, but the defender sticks to his task well and tackles the ball out for a corner. The ball is swung in and Adam Federici appears to be hurt in the act of punching it away. A brief stoppage here...

  10. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

Joshua King has looked lively for Bournemouth in recent weeks, and he's close to opening the scoring here. He does really well to jink inside from the left and find a pocket of space to unleash a shot, which Tim Howard gets down well to parry.

"I think confidence has always been the issue with Romelu Lukaku.

"His touch and hold-up play is so improved - in previous seasons we kept seeing ball bouncing off him.

"But even with fluctuating confidence he still scored 20 goals last year. He's still only 22 years old!"

  12. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

A lovely ball from Romelu Lukaku releases Gerard Deulofeu down the right, but his attempted pass to Ross Barkley is intercepted.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

Matt Ritchie receives the ball on the edge of the area and decides to try his luck, but his well-struck left-footed effort is comfortably held by Tim Howard.

That Brendon Galloway's a skinny lad, isn't he? His jersey looks like it's a couple of sizes too big for him, but the Everton left back has done really well since Roberto Martinez gave him his chance in the side. He gets caught out of position though, when Matt Ritchie knocks a channel ball past him, but Ramiro Funes Mori gets across to cover.

  15. 'Everton did so well to keep hold of Stones'published at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 28 November 2015

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Everton winger on Final Score

"Everton did so well to keep hold of John Stones in the pre-season. It'll take over £40 million to sign him, but I don't think Everton are in a position where they have to sell.

"I think it'll be better for all concerned if Stones can continue to develop over the next couple of seasons at Goodison Park."

  16. CLOSE!published at 2 mins

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

And a decent chance for Bournemouth inside two minutes! Junior Stanislas trundles into the area and cuts the ball across for Dan Gosling arriving on the edge of the area, who scuffs a volley wide.

  17. KICK OFFpublished at 15:00

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

Everton, kicking from left to right, get us up and running. Both teams in their traditional kit - Bournemouth in red and black stripes, Everton in blue. Excellent.

"I saw Bournemouth on the first day of the season, when they created chances and failed to complete them. They are not creating as many chances as they did last year, but they are still playing Championship football and they look wide open."
