    GOAL - Napoli 2-0 Juventuspublished at 21:09

    Gonzalo Higuain (62 mins)

Juventus are heading for their third defeat in six games. Brilliant solo goal from Gonzalo Higuain, The Napoli striker pounces on a loose pass inside his own half from Hernanes, surges forward then buries a low angled shot under Gianluigi Buffon.

  2. Postpublished at 21:08

    Villarreal 1-0 Atletico (80 mins)

Atletico still to fashion a clear chance in this second half, and Fernando Torres has been largely anonymous since he came on. Can the former Liverpool and Chelsea man grab his side a goal in the final 10 minutes?

  3. Postpublished at 21:06

    Napoli 1-0 Juventus (59 mins)

Better stuff from Juventus, who are seeing much more of the ball in this second half. Paul Pogba pulls rank over a free-kick right on the edge of the Napoli penalty area...then smashes into the blue-shirted wall.

Moments later, Paolo Dybala creates some space for himself then firing a fierce angled shirt into another home defender.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:04

    Napoli 1-0 Juventus (56 mins)

Another pair of bookings, again evenly distributed by referee Daniele Orsato. Not sure what narked him at the break, but his mood has taken a turn for the worse. He books Juve left-back Patrice Evra and then scrawls the name of Napoli winger Jose Callejon in his notepad too after far-from-brutal fouls.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:02

    Villarreal 1-0 Atletico (75 mins)

Tomas Pina comes on to add a bit of muscle to the Villarreal midfield as Roberto Soldado's frustration grows, after the hapless forward is flagged offside despite being in his own half.

  6. Postpublished at 21:00

    Napoli 1-0 Juventus (52 mins)

After all that nonsense we get back down to the football. Juve defender Giorgio Chiellini attacks the delivery from the right flank but cannot keep his header under control.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:58

    Napoli 1-0 Juventus (51 mins)

Referee Daniele Orsato is starting to dish out yellow cards like confetti. And I don't particularly think he needs to. First he books Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam for a late challenge on Juve's Simone Padoin. Foul - yes. Booking - no. Ghoulam had his eyes firmly on the ball and it wasn't that bad. Then the official evens up the booking count with a caution for Juve defender Leonardo Bonucci. That is for some backchat after he ventures up from the back to contest the free-kick from Ghoulam's foul.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:56

    Villarreal 1-0 Atletico (65 mins)

Atletico boss Diego Simeone plays his last card, Oliver Torres replaced by Angel Correa, who slots into the right of midfield.

  9. Postpublished at 20:54

    Napoli 1-0 Juventus (47 mins)

Almost an early chance for Juve. Paul Pogba pumps forward a long ball towards Paulo Dybala, forcing Napoli keeper Pepe Reina to come charging out of his goal to stick his head on the ball. But it doesn't matter. The linesman's flag is up for offside.

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:52

  12. CHANCEpublished at 20:46

    Villarreal 1-0 Atletico (60 mins)

Nahuel Leiva is put through for Villarreal, but the substitute, on for goalscorer Leo Baptistao, stands on the ball and the chance goes begging in comical fashion.

  14. BOOKINGpublished at 20:40

    Villarreal 1-0 Atletico (52 mins)

Villarreal striker Roberto Soldado earns a yellow card for talking out of turn to the referee, as he demands more protection after being on the receiving end of a tasty challenge or two.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37

    Napoli 1-0 Juventus

Phew. What a half! This match was highly anticipated by Italian football followers, despite the woeful starts by both starts, and it has not disappointed. Napoli well worth their slender lead against the reigning champions.

  16. Postpublished at 20:36

    Napoli 1-0 Juventus (45+2 mins)

End-to-end stuff at Stadio Sao Paolo! Napoli winger Jose Callejon slices wide as the home side surge forward, then Juve almost bag at the other end after a swift counter. But that leaves the champions stretched at the back, Napoli storming forward on the counter-counter-attack, but Dries Mertens cannot bend his curling shot inside the far post.

  17. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:35

    Villarreal 1-0 Atletico

We're back under way at El Madrigal. Fernando Torres is on as part of a double substitution at half-time for Atletico, along with Luciano Vietto, the former Villarreal striker.

  18. INJURY TIMEpublished at 20:34

    Napoli 1-0 Juventus

Three minutes for Juventus to do something to alter Max Allegri's half-time team-talk. But don't hold your breath. The hairdryer could be out.

  19. Postpublished at 20:31

    Napoli 1-0 Juventus (42 mins)

What response have we seen from Juventus? Very little to be honest. They have offered little attacking threat and look - well, they are - a shadow of the side that cruised to the title last season.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:28

    Napoli 1-0 Juventus (39 mins)

Oh dear. A big blow to Napoli's hopes here. Goalscorer Lorenzo Insigne goes down clutching his right leg - and team-mate Gonzalo Higuain immediately does that he-needs-substituting-now motion with his hands. Shame for Insigne who - yet again - has been outstanding. He is replaced by Belgium winger Dries Mertens.
