  1. Messi out for 'seven or eight weeks'published at 19:20

So Barcelona have won and Madrid have dropped points. But aside from the on-field action, there has been some other big news from La Liga....

Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi will be out for seven to eight weeks after tearing a ligament in his left knee during a 2-1 win over Las Palmas.

The bad news? He will miss a host of important La Liga and Champions League matches. The good news? His first match back could be El Clasico against Real Madrid.

How Real Madrid did not win that game is beyond me. Ronaldo could - and perhaps should - have bagged the hat-trick he needs to overtake Raul as the club's all-time leading scorer.

Madrid had 31 attempts at goal. But credit to Malaga, who defended heroically.

Unbelievable! Malaga keeper Carlos Kameni keeps out Real Madrid with another brilliant save  from Karim Benzema - but then almost undoes all his previous good work. Isco's follow-up slips through Kameni's greasy fingers, but luckily for the visitors his skipper Welington is on hand to slide clear off his goal-line. Remarkable.
