We've mentioned Exeter's poor recent record in the FA Cup but, in fairness, they have perhaps been rather unfortunate with their draws.

This is the 11th time in the last 12 FA Cup draws that the Grecians have been involved in that they have seen themselves drawn away from home.

Didcot have not yet managed to get their passing game going and put together a meaningful attack in numbers, but defensively, they are looking relatively solid. They are showing that they are not afraid to get stuck in too.

There is not a single Football League appearance between the entire Didcot Town team.

At the other end of the scale, Clinton Morrison has played in a quite astounding 628 games in the top five divisions.

After half an hour though, it remains goalless.

Leigh Bedwell dives to his right superbly to palm away a sweet, angled drive from Jamie McAllister for an Exeter corner. That was a fine save and the closest that either side has come yet to the first goal.

Didcot's Andy Ballard has a huge, long throw and launches one into the box from barely halfway into the Exeter half, but the Grecians were prepared for it and head the ball to safety.

That's a weapon that the part-timers will hope to use to their advantage though, as this game goes on.

The hosts will be pleased to have kept things tight for the first 20 minutes, but will perhaps be slightly concerned about how much of the game they have spent in their own defensive third so far.

At the other end, they look to be in through on goal for the first time, but striker Mark Janes is offside.

Exeter fans have seen their team knocked out of the FA Cup by Curzon Ashton and Warrington Town in the last few years so it is perhaps not surprising that their fans are looking a little pensive with the game still goalless.

Didcot keeper Leigh Bedwell does well to save and hold Ryan Harley's slightly scuffed shot, as Exeter see another half chance pass them by.

Exeter are starting to apply some slight pressure but a hopeful volley from midfielder David Noble flies harmlessly over the bar.

The visitors win a free-kick after a late challenge from James Organ. That was nasty, with studs up, but thankfully no harm was done, and the referee saw no need for a yellow card.

As the delivery comes in, we see the first effort on target of the game but Jordan Moore-Taylor's far post header is straight at goalkeeper Leigh Bedwell.

The hosts win two free-kicks in relatively dangerous positions but Exeter calmly clear the danger on both occasions. This is a decent start from the part-timers though.

Exeter have not enjoyed themselves in this competition for several years, suffering famous defeats by Warrington Town and Curzon Ashton, among others.

Paul Tisdale will be desperate for his side to improve their poor cup record this afternoon.

With the stands and touchline completely packed at Loop Meadow, some fans have taken advantage of a helpfully-located Oxfordshire hillside, behind one end, to watch the game. There is even a convenient bench, for comfort.
