Deulofeu has been outstanding this season but the big success story has been Ross Barkley. He's shown the talent that I've know that's been within for a long time, and I expect him to have a big night tonight.

The visitors are the first on the attack, Connor Wickham having a sight of goal from the edge of the penalty area but his shot is tame and easily claimed by Tim Howard.

Goodison under lights is extra special. Everton will come out all guns blazing. I think Palace have got the ability in the back line to soak that up and hit them at pace on the counter-attack.

Who do you consider the Premier League's most under-rated foreign players - and why?

Ahmed: Mikel Arteta. Was Everton's talisman under Moyes and was a rock for Arsenal before Coquelin took over.

Paul McQuillan: Toby Alderweireld has been fantastic for Spurs this season.

Photographers are lining up in front of the dugouts, focusing their lenses on injured Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney who has a prime seat looking onto the halfway line.

The former Everton striker seems to be reading the match programme, ignoring the rush of blood he's caused among the snappers.

JacobNT-D: Glenn Whelan and Geoff Cameron. Absolute rock in midfield and the most versatile man there is.

Blue: In all honesty, it has to be Giroud. He scores quite a lot but doesn't really get any credit.

  12. Palace can target Europe - Barkleypublished at 19:50

Everton v Crystal Palace (20:00 GMT)

More from Ross Barkley's interview in tonight's match programme and the midfielder says he has been impressed by Crystal Palace's season so far.

A point at Goodison Park this evening would lift the Eagles into sixth position and Barkley believes they can be contenders for European qualification.

"Alan Pardew has done a great job there and players like Yannick Bolasie and Yohan Cabaye can hurt any team in the Premier League.

"In the past, they've always been on people's mind when relegation has been discussed but they are now a well-established top-flight team and they'll be thinking of European qualification this season - and why shouldn't they?"

  13. Barkley 'thinking like a striker'published at 19:47

Everton v Crystal Palace (20:00 GMT)

Ross Barkley (below, left) has been an increasing influence on Everton this season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists, having netted only twice last season.

The England midfielder, who turned 22 on Saturday, says in tonight's match programme that he has made a big effort to get "tap-ins" as well as "worldies".

"Obviously, I have scored a few great goals from outside the box, but I have also been realising that there are more goals for the taking from inside the box," he said.

"Knowing that I was capable of shooting from distance meant I wasn't trying to get into the box before. I would just let our strikers do that. But now I know in the number 10 role I'm playing in, you have to be a midfielder but also think like a striker as well."

"With the two teams separated by just a point and both recently showing the kind of form they are capable of, this fixture is full of intrigue.

"Everton have begun to find consistency and goalscoring form and currently look an exciting proposition.

"Romelu Lukaku is in great goalscoring form with eight league goals in as many matches, ably assisted by the exciting talent of Gerard Deulofeu who is justifying the faith shown in him by Roberto Martinez.

"Palace are a real threat away from home though, and have already picked up more points on their travels than at Selhurst Park this season, and Everton will certainly show them healthy respect."

Everton won the last meeting between the sides - Romelu Lukaku netting the only goal at Selhurst Park in January.

It was Alan Pardew's first defeat as Palace manager.

As for Belgium striker Lukaku, he remains Everton's main threat and has scored eight goals in his past eight league matches.
