    Poland 2-1 Republic of Ireland

    Kevin Kilbane
BBC Radio 5 live at the National Stadium, Warsaw

"You have to credit Poland, they had the momentum before the break and they've continued that into this second half.

"But with Aiden McGeady now on that's a real positive move from Ireland. I'd like to see them get a lot more crosses into the box. They've got Jonathan Walters who can connect with them."

Tom Hendryk:Head-to-head rule is stupid. Makes goal difference pointless! Everyone plays each other home and away, surely that counts more?

Ahmed Mohamed: The days when six goals in six games meant a striker on form, but 15 in six games? What sort of form is Robert Lewandowski on?!

Robbie Keane's first touch is a 30-yarder which drifts wide as Martin O'Neill makes another positive change. Ireland go 4-4-2 as Aiden McGeady comes on for Glenn Whelan.

  7. That wasn't in the scriptpublished at 20:56

    Germany 1-1 Georgia

Georgia equalise, and it's a fantastic left foot volley from the edge of the box by captain Jaba Kankava.

He was the man who gave the penalty away, but he's more than made amends with a stunning strike.

A Georgia win would mean that a draw in Warsaw would put Germany into the play-offs...

    Poland 2-1 Republic of Ireland

Germany's goal has no impact on what the Republic of Ireland need to do though. A 2-2 draw would still put the Irish through and Glenn Whelan at least makes Lukasz Fabianski work with a drive from 25 yards.

  9. Germany take the leadpublished at 20:53

    Germany 1-0 Georgia

Germany finally hit the front - but it took a penalty to break the deadlock.

Mesut Ozil tricked his way into the box and was tripped.

After goalkeeper Nukri Revishvili was booked for trying to put Thomas Muller off, the German stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way and rolled in the spot kick.

That puts Germany back on top of the group.

Poland, as you'd expect, have made a bright start to the second half. The Republic look solid enough though, keeping them out - though Michal Pazdan does flash a header across goal...

"If Ireland can keep Poland out and still have 15 minutes left on the clock the crowd will start to get nervy and that's when they can strike."

    Gibraltar 0-2 Scotland

    Chris McLaughlin
    BBC Sport Scotland

"It's all gone according to plan for Scotland in that first half. Gordon Strachan will be pleased at the dig and desire shown by his players. The full-backs in particular have been in the mood. The players leave the field to a thunderous round of applause from the 10,000 or so Scotland fans in the stands."

Get Involved - the 2-2 questionpublished at 20:39 British Summer Time 11 October 2015

    #bbcfootball

peutlantMarmot: Watching in San Diego, struggling to understand why a 2-2 draw works for the Irish, but not 1-1?

An excellent question and you are not alone my friend.

Uefa uses head-to-head records to decide who finishes higher when teams are level on points.

Republic of Ireland and Poland drew 1-1 in Dublin, so a 2-2 draw in Warsaw would put the Irish through on 'away' goals, as it were.

If it were to finish 1-1, Poland would go through because the next criteria used to separate sides is goal difference in the group as a whole. The Poles are on +23 as it stands, while Ireland are on +12.

    Clear enough?
