  1. What do the Republic need?published at 1 mins

    Poland 0-0 Republic of Ireland

    Another quick reminder for you.

A win in Poland and a place in the finals is theirs.

A 2-2 draw - or higher, so 3-3 etc - and the Republic are there in place of Poland.

A 0-0 or 1-1 draw in Poland could be enough to qualify - but only if Georgia win in Germany.

Defeat in Poland and it's the play-offs for the Republic.

"Having Seamus Coleman back is really positive, I think he'd fit into pretty much any team in Europe. John O'Shea and Richard Keogh have played really well as a central defensive partnership, too.

"And Darren Randolph, I'm sure the back four will have confidence in him, Martin O'Neill does. Before joining West Ham he'd been excellent over the last few seasons at Birmingham."

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill: "The turnaround between games is very quick, we have had to travel here and there are one or two tired legs in there.

"Wes Hoolahan is not fit enough to start but is available for the last half hour or so if we need him. He has been a fine player for us.

"We are in the play-offs already but this is the one here. We have given ourselves a chance and you don't want to die wondering. We have to win tonight and the players know it. They are ready."

The Republic must find a way to contain free-scoring Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski tonight, a task which boss Martin O'Neill concedes will be difficult.

Lewandowski has scored 14 goals in his last five games for club and country.

"Outside of the very, very best players in the world, Ronaldo and Messi, Lewandowski is in a bracket of a number of players who are not far behind. He's really brilliant," said the Republic manager.

"Someone like that, whom you can rely on, is going to cause you problems. You have to cope with that and try and come through."

Good luck Richard Keogh and John O'Shea...
