A searching cross by Daniel Pinilos from the left flank comes to nothing as Forest still seek a way back in to the match. One goal and you sense the doubts will start creeping in for Bristol City. After all, this is a side who have won just one game all season and have yet to win at home.

Jamie Ward replaces Nelson Oliveira for Nottingham Forest's second substitution of the evening.

Nottingham Forest duo Henri Lansbury and Danny Fox both go into the book for late challenges on Luke Freeman and Jonathan Kodjia during the same passage of play.

It's been much better from the visitors after the interval. The strikes on goal are mounting and so is the pressure. Bristol City suddenly look a bit flat.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Jonny Williams, on loan from Crystal Palace, is on for Chris Burke.

Henri Lansbury hits the bar for Forest, and that would have been an absolutely stunning goal. He controls the ball out wide and volleys a looping effort towards the far post but it bounces away to safety.

Aden Flint forgets he's a great big lumbering defender and suddenly thinks he's Lionel Messi, mixing some rarely seen dribbling skills with a stepover or two in the left-back area. He scored 15 goals last season though. Maybe I am being unkind.

Henri Lansbury then sends a dipping half-volley wide from 20-odd yards. Already there has been about as much goal threat from Forest as there was for the first 35 minutes of the opening period.

Daniel Pinilos forces a fine sprawling stop from Frank Fielding, the Bristol City keeper diving to keep out the full-back's swerving strike.

First chance for the Robins from a free-kick but it's a pretty woeful training ground routine which ends with Marlon Pack dribbling the ball in to the wall. That needs more work.

Under way again at Ashton Gate. Anyone fancy a stirring Forest fightback inspired by a fed-up Dougie Freedman? No changes for either side.

Well, what do you make of this? City fans have to be feeling pretty chuffed. Your team is playing some lovely stuff and creating chances at will. Has this performance been coming?

As for an injury-hit Forest, it's not looking so rosy. Was it it be expected given the number of key men out? Is a change of tactics required? There's oodles of space out wide for the hosts and if it carries on then more home goals seem on the cards.

That's a half of football Forest will want to forget. Something to build on towards the end with some decent possession. But that will not hide the fact that Bristol City have been superb and have totally dominated.

Aaron Wilbraham has two goals to his name and the hosts could have been four or five up by now.

More encouraging signs for Forest manager Dougie Freedman with City pegged back in their own box. It comes to nothing but the last ten minutes is by far the best spell the away side have had.
