Emilio Izaguirre slices his cross straight into the box and the arms of Connor Ripley. The Motherwell keeper then punts the ball downfield... Straight into the arms of Celtic keeper Craig Gordon.
Kris Commons is felled by Stephen McManus and Celtic have a free kick in a promising position 20 yards out. However, Commons balloons his effort high over the bar; the intrepid ball-boy is off on his travels again [cue Mission Impossible theme tune again]

Celtic spurn a glorious chance to double their lead as Kris Commons, played in by Dedryck Boyata, sends a tame effort trickling into the grateful hands of Connor Ripley.

"As off the pace as they've been, you almost get the sense Motherwell are getting a second wind here. Suddenly the introduction of Scott McDonald looks significant. There's still a very credible chance here of Motherwell getting something from this match. Young winger Dom Thomas about to join the game. A former youth player at Celtic apparently."
Twenty minutes plus added time remaining of a pulsating encounter at Fir Park. Plenty of time for more goals...
Scott McDonald replaces Wes Fletcher and Gary Mackay-Steven comes on for Stuart Armstrong as both sides roll the dice in search of a goal.

"Celtic should have had a penalty for that handball, but it remains 1-0 and therefore Motherwell are still in this. Ronny Deila must be feeling frustrated his side have failed to score more in this match. No surprise to see Leigh Griffiths introduced. Scott McDonald about to enter the fray for the home side."
Celtic are swarming all over Motherwell in search of a second goal and Celtic skipper Scott Brown fizzes a shot wide. "Celtic need to hit the target from those areas," says BBC Sportsound pundit Pat Bonner.
Motherwell threaten as Kieran Kennedy flashes a shot wide of Craig Gordons' goal. Two substitutions to alert you to: Lionel Ainsworth replaces Louis Moult for Motherwell while Leigh Griffiths is on for Nadir Ciftci.
Another Celtic appeal for a penalty; another appeal rejected. The visitors claim for handball as Kieran Kennedy looks to clear- not given.
"That's a penalty," opines BBC Sportsound pundit Pat Bonner.
Celtic respond immediately as Kris Commons looks to engineer some space inside the box but his effort fizzes just wide - it looks like referee Alan Muir called a halt to the move for a handball by Commons.
How on earth is this game still 1-0? Answers on a postcard, please...
Motherwell come within a whisker of an equaliser as Efe Ambrose slices his attempted clearance over the bar. "That could've gone anywhere," chuckles BBC Sportsound pundit Pat Bonner.
Referee Alan Muir, with a shake of the head, rejects Celtic calls for a penalty as Scott Brown takes a tumble in the box. The whistler says the ball was taken in the challenge by Kieran Kennedy. Play rages on and the atmosphere is crackling away inside Fir Park.
