"Celtic the dominant force so far, but a tad sloppy in possession. Motherwell have set-up with a formation that aspires to be 4-3-3 but is spending a lot of time as 4-5-1. Eventually the pressure tells and Celtic pull it together. Good play down the left from Armstrong and Izaguirre. Motherwell failed to deal with it, Commons with the quick turn and shot well saved by Ripley but Ciftci is there to lap up the rebound to make it 1-0. He enjoyed that goal."
A goal's been coming and it arrives via the boot of Nadir Ciftci. Stuart Armstrong waits for Emilio Izaguirre's overlapping run before dinking the ball to the Honduran. His cross tees up Kris Commons, whose effort is parried by Connor Ripley, allowing Ciftci to steer the ball home.

Celtic appeal unsuccessfully for a penalty as the impressive Stuart Armstrong spears into the Motherwell box but is felled by Marvin Johnson with a shoulder challenge. That didn't look like a penalty...

Stuart Armstrong dances past a couple of Motherwell players but screws his effort wide as he tries to outfox Connor Ripley at his near post.
Nadir Ciftci feeds Efe Ambrose and his low cross is cleared for another Celtic corner. The set piece will be delayed, though, as Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton receives treatment for a knock.
The set piece, when it does arrive, sees Motherwell clear their lines.
The hosts threaten as an impressive move puts Celtic's defence on their heels. Wes Fletcher has a chance to test Craig Gordon but his curling effort is easily gathered by the goalkeeper.
Kris Commons feeds Nadir Ciftci on the edge of the penalty area and the former Dundee United hitman's effort is deflected for a Celtic corner. Stuart Armstrong's subsequent corner is headed wide by Tyler Blackett.
The visitors are enjoying the lionshare of possession in the early stages at Fir Park but have yet to test Connor Ripley in the Motherwell goal.
We're under way at Fir Park. Mercifully, the fog is lifting!
The teams are out on the pitch and there's a minute's applause for the late Motherwell legend Joe Wark, who passed away aged 67.

"We have some small issues with some of the players but nothing major with anybody. We're very close to having everybody going again..."
"Only a week ago I was preparing for a different kind of match and at that point had no idea I would be standing here.
"It has been a busy week; we've got some work done and we've prepared the team according to what I've seen in training and we think we have a set-up and plan that will hopefully give us a chance of winning the game.
"There's a lot of new faces in the dressing-room and I've got to quickly get up to speed about their names, strengths and weaknesses and how best to deploy them.
Image source, SNS"But, in terms of surroundings, it feels like I've never been away. Every week you have to prove yourself. Regardless of what I did six years ago, it is irrelevant, but hopefully the supporters will give me a chance to prove I can be successful again.
"I didn't miss it early on with Scotland as I was so integrated into Gordon's regime and that's been amazing and that kept me sane.
"But I can do that [Scotland] role now along with a full-time job and I'm back on the training ground and it's fantastic.
"That won't change. It was discussed before I came here and I factored that into my decision."

"The Sportsound lads ready for action ahead of Motherwell v Celtic. I think it's fair to say Craig Paterson intrigued by the starting line-ups from both sides."

"The big question pre-match is how on earth will Motherwell line-up with the likes of Keith Lasley, Lionel Ainsworth and Scott McDonald all on the bench? As for Celtic, Nadir Ciftci has a chance to shine with Leigh Griffiths on the bench. Scott Brown starts after recovering from that training ground knock."
Mark McGhee says he must prove himself once again to Motherwell supporters in his second spell in charge at Fir Park.
In 2008, McGhee led Well to third place in the top flight but left for Aberdeen after two years at the helm.

"You go to any club, you've got to prove yourself," said McGhee. "I don't think it's any different here.
"What I would hope is, the fact I've been here before and been relatively successful, it means it would give me a chance to prove myself.
"I'm going to go out there and try to prove to those people who are supporting Motherwell that I am the right man."
