Brighton have scored their first goal for over nine hours - and it's a familiar name on the scoresheet - Bobby Zamora putting the promotion chasers 1-0 up at Blackburn.

Bournemouth take the lead, and it is no less than they deserve after a cracking start.

Marc Pugh, in the side as a result of an injury to Matt Ritchie, swings in a cross and Dan Gosling heads down into the bottom corner from close range.

Perfect start for both Newcastle, and Jonjo Shelvey on his debut.

The ex-Swansea man hasn't got the goal but he plays a key part, feeding a pass to Georginio Wijnaldum, who lays the ball into the path of Ayoze Perez on the edge of the area and he hits a first-time effort into the corner of the goal.

Bang! First goal of the day comes at St Mary's as James Ward-Prowse curls a beautiful free-kick into the top corner from 20 yards. Great free-kick, but I'm not sure what Baggies keeper Boaz Myhill was doing? He seemed resigned to that being a goal as soon as it left Ward-Prowse's foot.

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

The away kit Everton are wearing at Stamford Bridge is an interesting one. They look like they've stolen the sleeves off Beetlejuice. Whoever thought grey hoops was a good idea?

The Toffees have started confidently. Ross Barkley's shot from the edge of the box is blocked.

  6. CLOSE!published at 15:03

    Bournemouth 0-0 Norwich

Oh that's nice from Benik Afobe.

The Bournemouth striker had a disappointing debut for the club in midweek, missing a few good chances, but he is clearly desperate to make up for that today.

He gets the ball on the edge of the area and, using his strength, turns his marker but shoots just over. Good effort.

"Are Everton a top six team? I don't think so. There's three or four parts to the league. I think it's Stoke, Everton, West Ham, Southampton. John Stones will eventually go to Manchester City or Chelsea or wherever.

"I think we have a better team than them. They're only playing one way. They don't have another dimension. What happens if Romelu Lukaku gets injured?"

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Crystal Palace are considering signing free agent striker Emmanuel Adebayor, 31. They were discussing it last night on BBC Radio 5 live, with journalist Jason Burt revealing Palace would need to negotiate with Spurs, who still pay him £100,000 a week.

Former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson: "He's a really good player. He'd put  bums on seats. I think Alan Pardew is very capable of managing high maintenance players. If he does decide to go for it, it won't be on a whim."

Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam: "He'll take the load off Connor Wickham. I think he'd be a good signing."

"Manchester City have not grabbed the league by the scruff of the neck. Sergio Aguero and David Silva have been injured. We're waiting for a big performance from them but they're still in the mix. I think they'll win the league with the squad they have."

"I don't think Man City will be champions - this will be Arsenal's year. City just can't get their best XI out onto the pitch. They haven't been consistent enough, and I think they'll finish second.

"Kompany is such a leader for his team, and Aguero scores their goals. Get them both out onto the field and they are a much better side."

"Chelsea were comfortably the best side last year. They made it look easy at times. It is a difficult one to put your finger on why they are where they are this season.

"You can't help but wonder if instances like with the doctor had an effect. There's got to be something that's awry."
