Abel Hernandez has his second of the day as second-placed Hull lead Charlton 2-0. It's his sixth in seven games.

Another man with six in seven is Sheffield United's Billy Sharp. He's put his side 1-0 up at Colchester.

And League Two leaders Plymouth are 2-1 up at home to Stevenage.

    Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender at the Etihad for BBC Radio 5 live

"It was a good strike, it had to be a left foot strike from Delph, I think the keeper should have saved it. I don't think he has been strong enough, he needed stringer wrists, he should have at least pushed it around the posts. A CW moment - chocolate wrists."

    Southampton 1-0 West Brom

I think it would be fair to say that Southampton are well on top against West Brom. In fact, I'm not sure I've seen the Baggies near the Saints box yet.

    Fabian Delph (22 mins)

Lovely stuff from Fabian Delph as Manchester City take the lead. The midfielder gets the ball midway inside the Crystal Palace half, advances before sweeping a low drive from 30 yards into the bottom corner. Clinical.

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

Romelu Lukaku has a point to prove today against his former club. He runs with the ball towards the Chelsea box and has the home defence backtracking but his shot is poorly executed and is dragged wide of goal.

  8. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:20

    Bournemouth 1-0 Norwich

Bournemouth have scored more goals in the opening 15 mins of Premier League games (seven) than any other side this season, a stat Manchester United fans can only dream of...

The Cherries think they have the chance to add a second goal when Charlie Daniels looks to be hauled down inside the area. Penalty? Referee says no. I'm not so sure.

Chelsea are on top at Stamford Bridge so far even though Bryan Oviedo has just volleyed wide, Everton are the side spending most time in their own third. Romelu Lukaku has had just six touches in around 18 minutes.

  10. CLOSE!published at 15:19

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

Oh, chance for Everton! They break superbly through Aaron Lennon, who drives into Chelsea territory before finding Ross Barkley in the box. His shot is blocked before the ball falls to Bryan Oviedo, but his first-time shot from 18 yards goes past the post. A bit more composure and the visitors would be ahead.

    Tottenham 4-1 Sunderland

Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce told BBC Sport: "Our players put themselves in one fantastic position and then in the space of a minute conceded. It’s one of the reasons we ended up losing.

"If we came in at half-time 1-0 up we could have built on that. It was a really sloppy thing to do. We ran out of legs in the end. In the last quarter you could physically we were tiring.

"I changed the shape but that didn’t work. The scoreline, 4-1, looks more comfortable than it was. I’m disappointed we’ve lost 4-1. I could have accepted 2-1.

"Jordan Pickford has a bright future ahead of him. Playing a keeper at a young age is not an easy decision to make. But I thought he handled it well today. He might not play too many more games this season because Vito Mannone has done a fantastic job. The rest of the team up to 65 minutes were doing the job right but in the last 20 they failed miserably."

On Jan Kirchhoff: “There wasn’t a lot he could do about the deflection. But the penalty, you don’t hang a leg out there unless you’re certain you’ll win the ball. Hopefully he’ll learn quickly. It’s a bit risky signing players from abroad in January but we have to take that risk. Hopefully he learns from today."

First big chance for Chelsea as Willian finds space down the Everton left to run into. He reaches the box and releases his shot butTim Howard does well to palm the ball over. Kurt Zouma meets the resulting corner but can't get enough on it and Howard gathers.

Did Newcastle sign Jonjo Shelvey or Andres Iniesta?

He is having a stormer as he once again plays a key role in Newcastle's second of the game, hitting a long, precision pass from inside his own half to Daryl Janmaat wide right. Janmaat bursts forward before crossing low for Georginio Wijnaldum to smash the ball into the roof of the net.

    Liquid football.

  14. Championship updatepublished at 15:14

It never rains but it pours. Championship bottom club Bolton have had keeper Ben Amos sent off for bringing down Nottingham Forest's Jamie Ward when through on goal after just 11 minutes.

Castro Oliveira scored the penalty to put Forest 1-0ahead..

It means Amos will be suspended for the FA Cup replay against non-league Eastleigh in midweek.

Manchester City can go top with a win today but they are not having it their way by any means at the moment in this game.

The visitors are swarming the City midfield and pushing forward quickly, with Joe Hart having had his hands warmed up in the biting cold by Damien Delaney's header.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino told BBC Sport: "It was a good response to the Leicester defeat. I’m very pleased. We need to be patient.

"We had a lot of shots on target – their goalkeeper was fantastic. I feel very pleased in the last few games. The belief is fantastic. We have a very good, strong squad – today was a good example."
