  1. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:44

    Bournemouth 1-0 Norwich

Big call from referee Bobby Madley.

Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe chases a ball through the defence and out rushes Norwich keeper Declan Rudd, taking the striker's legs just outside the area.

Rudd looks sheepish as he gets up. He's fearing the worst but it looks like the fact there were two defenders close by has saved him as Madley pulls out the yellow, rather than a red card.

  2. Football League updatepublished at 15:42

Jose Riga won't be enjoying his first game in his second spell in charge of Charlton. His side trail 4-0 away to Hull City. Abel Hernandez has a hattrick inside 40 minutes.

Blackpool could be about to change their run of three defeats in a row. They're 3-0 up inside half an hour at home to Scunthorpe, with two from Brad Potts.

Leyton Orient were 1-0 up at home to Exeter within 24 seconds. They're now 3-1 down after 32 minutes. Jayden Stockley has scored twice.

  3. Postpublished at 15:41

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

Thibaut Courtois's first real action in this game is to push away a low, goalbound Kevin Mirallas shot from the edge of the area. It is a rare moment of excitement in an otherwise dull game. I've just seen a shot of Roman Abramovich. He looks like he's about to nod off.

  4. goal

GOAL - Man City 2-0 Crystal Palacepublished at 15:40

    Sergio Aguero (41 mins)

Go ahead and ignore what I said a few entries ago about this game because Manchester City have indeed got a second.

It is a poor goal from Palace's point of view, as Kelechi Iheanacho cuts the ball back for Sergio Aguero, whose fairly weak shot deflects ever so slightly off the head of Scott Dann and lands in the back of the net.

  5. 'Clumsy from Dawson'published at 15:38

    Southampton 2-0 West Brom

    Shay Given
Stoke City & Republic of Ireland goalkeeper on Final Score

"It is a bit clumsy from Craig Dawson. If it happens anywhere else on the pitch then it is a free-kick so I suppose it is a penalty."

  6. 'There was contact'published at 15:38

    Southampton 2-0 West Brom

    Chris Sutton
Former Chelsea & Norwich striker on Final Score

"Absolutely a penalty. Long slid in a tantalising ball and Dawson bundled Targett over. It wasn't clumsy at such, but there was contact."

  7. JWP at the double...published at 15:38

    Southampton 2-0 West Brom

Not a bad day for James Ward-Prowse.

Two shots, two goals, two interceptions and excellent with the ball. Of his 28 passes, only four have gone astray. I have a feeling he could be making the Garth Crooks team of the week.

He had scored two goals in 114 games before today... now he's doubled his career tally in the space of 30 minutes.

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:36

    Southampton 2-0 West Brom

Southampton so, so close to making it 3-0 as the ball comes lose from a tussle in the box and Matt Targett fires low on goal. It would have found the net but for a superb last-ditch sliding block on the line by James McClean. That could well have been curtains for Albion had that gone in.

  9. Not all their own way...published at 15:37

    Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace

So Manchester City lead but who is this pass master at the Etihad?

    Joe LedleyImage source, .

The man on the pitch seeing most of the ball is Joe Ledley in the Crystal Palace midfield. He has played 27 passes, 89% of them complete. Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero have just 11 touches and seven touches respectively.

  10. 'City look ordinary'published at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2016

    Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender at the Etihad for BBC Radio 5 live

"Manchester City are a little bit faceless, It's perfunctory, they can not get De Bruyne or Silva into the game. They look very ordinary at the moment.

"Let's say they win the game, Pellegrini will think that's great, I have saved my players and we can kick on until the end of the season but football does not always work like that."

  11. Postpublished at 15:36

    Man City 1-0 Crystal Palace

Are Manchester City looking good for a second goal? Crystal Palace mounting a fightback? No on both accounts with not a lot going on, the quality of recent play summed up as Kelechi Iheanacho completely misses the ball as he attempts a volley.

  12. goal

    James Ward-Prowse

Southampton put significant distance between themselves and the Baggies as James Ward-Prowse gets his second of the game with a low finish to the bottom right corner of the net. Boaz Myhill is foxed, diving the other way.

  13. PENALTY - Southamptonpublished at 15:33

    Southampton 1-0 West Brom

West brom could have had a penalty a few minutes ago. Now they have conceded one as Matt Targett as knocked to the ground by a rash challenge from Craig Dawson. Big moment in the game coming up...

  14. Postpublished at 15:32

    Newcastle 2-0 West Ham

This is a bit random. Alan Shearer is sat in the stands at St James' Park alongside soft voiced singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.

Shearer and Sheeran. Sounds like some sort of comedy double act.

They'll like what they are seeing (assuming Sheeran is a Newcastle fan) as Paul Dummett has an effort cleared off the line. Newcastle are firmly in control.

  15. Postpublished at 15:32

    Chelsea 0-0 Everton

There is a reason Pedro doesn't operate a lot in his own box. The Spanish winger takes a couple of heavy touches as he looks to clear and ends up conceding a corner under pressure from Ross Barkley. After Chelsea half-clear the corner, Barkley then looks to thread a pass to Kevin Mirallas in the box but it is just ahead of him. Again, the final ball lets a move down. Story of the game so far.

  16. 'Everton have never been battered'published at 15:30

"Everton have played well this season, and I have no idea why they constantly fail to get over the line in games. They have never been battered by a Premier League opponent."

  17. Postpublished at 15:28

    Southampton 1-0 West Brom

West Brom have been in the Saints box now. And they could have had a penalty as well. Craig Gardner looks to collect a ball and is caught in the midriff by a swinging boot from James Ward-Prowse. The Baggies midfielder doesn't make a lot of it. Maybe he should have done? looked a legit shout to me.

  18. Postpublished at 15:27

    Bournemouth 1-0 Norwich

Norwich are retreating further and further towards their own area as Bournemouth press. The hosts are hammering on the door, but no second goal to show for their dominance yet.

"A good cross and Wijnaldum, who has scored a few for Newcastle this season, still had a bit to do. But it was a cool finish."
