The substitute Gotta missed marking his man. He'd only just come onto the pitch for Leacock. A bit of rough luck for the Hawks.

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:38

    Hull 0-1 Reading

We'll be back at the KC for the second half shortly.

A reminder it's still Whitehawk 1-0 Dagenham & Redbridge in the FA Cup second round replay.

In the meantime, some more talking points from around the Championship this week.

    Hull 0-1 Reading

It's back to where Reading were about nine or 10 weeks ago. They've played some great stuff. The goal was fantastic, really, really good interplay, and a tremendous finish by Nick Blackman.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45+1 mins

    Hull 0-1 Reading

Just the one minute added on at the end of the first 45.

Boos from the home side accompany the half-time whistle and Reading have so far executed their game plan.

  5. Hull 0-1 Readingpublished at 45 mins

Remember that form guide I posted at the start?

Probably not - but, Reading are ripping it up at the moment and certainly don't look like a side with only one win in nine games.

Hull looking a shadow of a side that's only lost once at home this season.

  6. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 43 mins

    Hull 0-1 Reading

Nick Blackman in the action again for Reading.

Standing over a free-kick this time from 25 yards out and his left-foot effort doesn't quite have enough dip on it and bounces off the top of the crossbar and behind.

  7. Hull 0-1 Readingpublished at 41 mins

Goal in the cup, but still only the one at Hull....

Long, searching ball into the area from Hull by Jake Livermore towards Chuba Akpom runs out of touch.

Ahmed Elmohamady pings one in soon after from the right side and Abel Hernandez can't quite stretch far enough to get his head on it.

  8. goal

    GOAL (Mills)published at 20:26

    Whitehawk 1-0 Dagenham & Redbridge

Now then, the shock is on in the FA Cup!

Whitehawk of National League South are 1-0 up against League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge.

Danny Mills heads home a cross to take Steve King's side that little bit closer to a third-round tie at Everton.

  9. Hull 0-1 Readingpublished at 38 mins

Gone quite sedate again around the KC Stadium.

Hull's supporters have had little to get them going so far. Some audible groans around the ground as a succession of passes fail to find a way past Reading and Hull remain in possession on the halfway line.

  10. Hull 0-1 Readingpublished at 34 mins

Sam Clucas stands over a free-kick for Hull.

It falls to Curtis Davies six yards out who pokes a right-foot towards goal and Jonathan Bond blocks on his first test of the evening in the Reading goal.

I've got to say, absolutely great finish from Nick Blackman, he's absolutely arrowed the ball past the keeper. Two lovely flicks by Norwood and then Vydra set Blackman up with a chance, and he put an excellent finish past McGregor in the Hull goal.

  12. Hull 0-1 Readingpublished at 32 mins

Reading almost in again on the counter-attack as goalscorer Nick Blackman threads a ball through to Matej Vydra.

But the Czech Republic striker can't control and away it rolls for a throw-in.

"Sam Deering's free-kick creates the problem and the header comes off the Dagenham defender to hit the post."

So it's still goalless at the Enclosed Ground. Can Steve King's non-league side book a third-round tie at Everton?

  14. goal

    GOAL (Blackman)published at 29 mins

    Hull 0-1 Reading

And there is the goal that Reading's creativity so far has deserved.

Nick Blackman with the left-foot finish into the top right corner for his 10th of the season after some neat touches on the edge of the area from both Matej Vydra and Oliver Norwood.

  15. Hull 0-0 Readingpublished at 28 mins

Reading have shaded the chances in this one so far, but Hull look capable of working some magic for an opening.

Oliver Norwood skews a shot well wide as the ball rolls across to him.

  16. Hull 0-0 Readingpublished at 26 mins

Reading's Garath McCleary has his blushes spared as he gives away possession cheaply to Sam Clucas.

Ball deflected behind for a Hull corner which the visitors easily clear.

  17. Hull 0-0 Readingpublished at 24 mins

Again the slight suggestion of an opening for Hull.

But Abel Hernandez and Chuba Akpom can't quite squeeze a ball through for a chance to shoot on the edge of the Reading area.

  19. Hull 0-0 Readingpublished at 21 mins

A mild evening up in Humberside for this one.

Tim Dellor on BBC Radio Berkshire reporting he's in shirt sleeves up in the press box for this one, despite there being less than 10 days until Christmas.

Hull still searching for a way to unlock this compact shape Reading have set themselves up with.

Reading have had the best chances definitely, but you need to score when you are on top.
