    Eastleigh v Bolton (15:00 GMT)

How many people does it take to call a game off?The four match officials have been joined on the pitch by another two or three executives. It doesn't look good to me.

    Still no official word though...

"Aston Villa have only won one game this season so imagine going into the club's training ground after yet another defeat. Something has to change at the club."

    "Everton will play.... Dagenham." "YES".

It's not just the League Two side who were excited when the draw was made. Dagenham striker Jamie Cureton was pretty pleased too.

Why? Because in more than 800 professional games of football, he is yet to play at Goodison Park.

“It’s a bit different for me to play at a new ground, but I made my league debut against them 20-odd years ago,” said Cureton., external

“I know my stats and grounds that I have and haven’t played at and it was one of the ones I was looking to play at in the draw. For it to come out, and hopefully I can go out and play, is great on a personal level."

Wycombe v Aston Villa (12:45 GMT)

    Clive Allen
BBC Radio 5 live at Adams Park

"The magnitude of the FA Cup is known worldwide but it is nothing to experiencing it. Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has experience of it when playing for Arsenal and he knows it is a massive tie that is why he has picked a strong team.

"The cup competition was what kept them in the Premier League last season, it kept everyone buzzing. It was so important for them, they have an amazing turnout of fans today."

'The sun is out!' says Dion Dublin as the officials go about their pitch inspection.

I'd say it's in the balance still, one linesman in particular looks like he doesn't fancy it.

Can they get the game on?

  10. 'Players not good enough'published at 12:37 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2016

Wycombe v Aston Villa (12:45 GMT)

    Dion Dublin
    Football Focus

"Aston Villa are in a relegation battle and it's sad to see. When I was there there was some great players like David Ginola and Peter Schmeichel.

"The fans have not had anything to cheer about for so many years and I would like to see the players come out and say 'it's up to us', but they have not been good enough.

"Gareth Ainsworth will get Wycombe ready for this game and if any of the Villa players are not up for it, then they will get beaten."

    Eastleigh v Bolton (15:00 GMT)

The officials are out on the Ten Acres pitch, rolling the ball about and trying a bounce in several places. It's not carrying particularly well!

I've seen worse though. Will the game be on? The TV cameras and fans add a touch of pressure...

  14. 'Diabolical'published at 12:34

    Arsenal v Sunderland (15:00 GMT)

The magic of the FA Cup?

Not if you listen to Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce, who has accused the Premier League of devaluing the FA Cup.

He said it was "diabolical" that top-flight clubs have league fixtures the Tuesday and Wednesday after this weekend's third-round ties and promised changes for their cup tie at Arsenal..

Sunderland, second from bottom in the league, are away to Arsenal in the FA Cup on Saturday (15:00 GMT) before they travel to fellow strugglers Swansea on Wednesday, 12 January.

We're flogging the lads. There are more and more injuries every year, but it's ignored by the Premier League.

The Danny Baker Show this morning discussed unlucky grounds for reasons other than the result.

    This entry is particularly superb....

Driving to watch Derby at Portsmouth. Car broke down at services. AA man fashioned a coathanger ignition key to get us there, parked away from ground and arrived twenty minutes late, only to run into Fratton Park in pouring rain to see Pompey score right in front of us. Thinking we were a goal down, settled down, only to realise that was their third goal! Went on to lose 6-2, car scrapped a week later, still follow the Rams! Simon
