Wales fans will be asking that Andrea Pirlo is dubbed the Italian Allen at this rate.

Joe Allen was already popular with Welsh supporters, who have made a banner which reads: "When God made Joe Allen, he was showing off."

The Liverpool midfielder laughed when I asked him about it last week but, if he continues in his current form, the adulation from the terraces will just keep coming.

Russia are not the quickest but they are trying to condense the pitch and it is not working so far. 

The tempo is good from Wales but we can't keep this up for 90 minutes.

Wales are still playing with confidence and Aaron Ramsey tries an ambitious ball out left for Gareth Bale. But it's overhit and even if Bale was on a motorbike he wouldn't have reached it.

What a ball from Joe Allen - the Welsh Pirlo!

Look at the touch of Allen, the third man run from Aaron Ramsey. He's got the audacity to wait for the goalkeeper to go down and dink it over him.

So cool, calm, collected.

If both games ended now, Wales would win Group B above England. That will change if England beat Slovakia. But the big news is that Wales will definitely qualify if they hold on.

What a finish from Aaron Ramsey.

Cool, calm and collected. 

Ramsey times his run to perfection and it is a brilliant finish.

Gareth Bale's shot is deflected, it looks like it might go out for a corner so Russia keeper Igor Akinfeev goes on the chase and ends up stumbling it out for a throw-in.

He stops Wales from taking a quick throw so the referee has a word. Any more shenanigans and he'll be booked, I'd imagine.

It will be important for the full-backs of Russia to get balls into the box for Artem Dzyuba - 6ft 5in, physically imposing figure.

Can they get balls into the box?

Just look how high Russia squeeze up - they might get caught the longer this game goes on.

Wales left wing-back Neil Taylor tries to slip in bleach-haired Aaron Ramsey but gets his pass wrong and it's cleared. They are getting quite a bit of joy out wide.

Russia are playing a dangerous game, trying to squeeze the midfield.

If we just time our runs we can get in behind.

Russia pump a long ball into the box but James Chester and Chris Gunter combine to get it clear.

A reminder that Russia can still qualify too so they'll be up for this.

The game has settled down a bit after that rapid Welsh start, although no real pattern to play yet. A great atmosphere in the smallest stadium in Euro 2016.

Russia are playing a very high line and it might be a chance for a third-man run from Aaron Ramsey or Gareth Bale making a run in behind Sam Vokes.

I think Vokes will like playing against the Russia defenders, both physical.

Great start from Wales. 

Akinfeev does well to save it, it was a stinging shot.

Wales almost lead through Gareth Bale, who cuts in from the right and fires a powerful shot in which Igor Akinfeev parries away.

Sam Vokes - the only new face in the starting line-up - has a go from the rebound but he's offside. Akinfeev saved it anyway.
