The Bullseye gamble very rarely paid off of course.

There is around seven minutes of normal time left for more action in this cracker.

  4. 'Man Utd rewarded'published at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2016

    Newcastle 2-3 Man Utd

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"What an unbelievable finish that was. I asked the question about who was going to be brave and try to win the game. Manchester United have gone with two in attack and they have got the reward for that."

That might be the best thing Wayne Rooney has done on a football pitch for a year, maybe more! What a great goal to put Manchester United back in front.

Sub Memphis Depay cuts in from the left, his shot is blocked and runs out to Rooney about 22 yards out. He swings, side-foots it into the top corner. Nonchalant. Classy.

    Newcastle 2-2 Man Utd

Go for the win Newcastle! Nobody liked it when they didn't go for the star prize on Bullseye. Let's see what you could have won eh?

The Magpies have been electric in the second-half. They've given Manchester United the run-around.

  9. 'Calming influence'published at 21:20 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2016

    Newcastle 2-2 Man Utd

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"Manchester United will be looking to Juan Mata just to put his foot on the ball and give the team a calming influence because that is exactly what they need right now.

"A big decision for either team now - do they settle for the point or go for the win?"

    Enner Valencia (75 mins)

I hate to say I told you so but Bournemouth have been punished for those first-half misses. A quick throw in catches the Cherries napping but then it's all about Dimitri Payet, who is a hell of a player on his day.

He beats one man, skips past another and then picks out Enner Valencia 10 yards out with a great cross, and Valencia lazers the volley into the roof of the net. Booof.

    Newcastle 2-2 Man Utd

Sean: The disorganized, frantic play from both United and Newcastle . This is like watching two pub sides go toe to toe.

Paul Humphreys: How was that a penalty? If anything, Mitrovic pulls Smalling down! Ridiculous decision.

Maddy Raman: No more than Newcastle deserve & third time they should have had a pen Mike Dean finally had the courage to give it.

  15. Postpublished at 21:15

    Aston Villa 1-0 Crystal Palace

Can Villa's nerve hold? They still lead thanks to that terrible mistake from Palace keeper Wayne Hennessey. Palace a long way short of their best so far but there's still plenty of time...

    Sixteen minutes or so.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:14

    Bournemouth 1-1 West Ham

It's all set up for a late hero at Dean Court but it won't be Benik Afobe as his Premier League debut comes to an end.

  17. CLOSE!published at 21:13

    Newcastle 2-2 Man Utd

Newcastle smell red blood! Moussa Sissoko drives into the box, Georginio Wijnaldum has a shot blocked by a team-mate and then Ashley Young hooks one out of the six-yard box.

    Manchester United can't get out!

  18. League One and Two updatepublished at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2016

Northampton have doubled their lead in their top-of-the-table clash with Plymouth in League Two. Marc Richards makes it 2-0 and the Cobblers look set to draw level on points at the top of the table.

A goal at each end in the League Two clash between Morecambe and Exeter. Shaun Miller gave the Shrimps the lead from the spot, but Jayden Stockley has replied for Exeter.

  19. Championship updatepublished at 21:12

    That’s why they’re champions? Perhaps.

Middlesbrough – at the top of the Championship – have looked well below par this evening at Brentford, but they have the lead after Daniel Ayala turns in from a goalkeeping mistake.

As it stands, they are going six points clear with second-placed Derby being held at home by Reading.

Follow all the action right now.

  20. 'What a match'published at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2016

    Newcastle 2-2 Man Utd

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"I mentioned earlier in first half how composed Wayne Rooney's penalty was and Aleksandar Mitrovic was the same. Superb composure and a superb penalty. What a match.

"Manchester United are on the ropes here. Defensively they are all over the place."
