Dele Alli gives a glimpse of his class with a shot on the turn from the edge of the box but it is an easy save for Lukasz Fabianski. Spurs have set up base camp on the edge of the Swans box.

Tottenham take a less subtle approach with a long ball into the box and it would have paid off had Danny Rose's touch not slightly let him down. Harry Kane gets a chance to create something but his cross towards Dele Alli and Erik Lamela is punched away by Lukasz Fabianski, who also gets a foul for his trouble.

But Alli is not alone. Harry Kane is feeding off scraps, Christian Eriksen has been wasteful and Erik Lamela and Son Heung-min have not been involved as much as the home side would like or require.

Credit for much of this must go to Swansea, who are incredibly well organised. Francesco Guidolin has done a sterling job with their back-line. They have not conceded more than once in a game since he arrived.

Dele Alli has been so important for Spurs this season, providing an all-action driving presence in midfield. It is no coincidence that he has been very quiet in this so-far under-par display from his side. Could that foot injury he suffered in the warm-up be responsible?

"I don't think Tottenham have played particularly badly. They've created three or four very good chances. They have to take a bit of a risk in the second half, and that could leave them vulnerable with the high line that they play.

"Swansea are battling for their Premier League lives. There's a massive amount of defending to do, and they have to be brave. They've done that well so far, but they have been a little bit lucky. Spurs at least deserve to be level."

A cracking first 45 minutes comes to an end. Swansea will be delighted. They took their chance when it came and have defended in numbers since.

Tottenham will be extremely frustrated. They have struggled to break the visitors down and when they have they have either missed their chances or come up against an inspired Lukasz Fabianski.

"There's a question as to whether Spurs were affected by the fact that they've played four games in the last two weeks while Swansea have had a fortnight off. I don't know if it is affecting Spurs. They don't look tired. The game plan has worked for Swansea, in the sense that they lead, but most of the chances have come for Spurs.

What a save! Brilliant from Lukasz Fabianski! Danny Rose's low cross into the box looks certain to be fired in by Eric Dier but his shot from eight yards out is clawed away by the Swansea keeper. Class.

Christian Eriksen is seeing an awful lot of the ball but is struggling to do anything meaningful with it. He tries to find Kyle Walker on the far side of the pitch but his pass is way too strong and goes out of play.

Swansea will be very happy. They have their goal and are preventing Spurs any space in and around their box.

    Tottenham 0-1 Swansea

This is proving to be a very frustrating afternoon for Spurs. Harry Kane looks to turn in the box but the ball deflects behind for a goal-kick. Cue the groans.

With the current scoreline at Old Trafford and here, there will be a lot of happy Leicester fans.

"There was lots of talk today about London Calling, that this is where the London challenge for the Premier League strengthens. Well, it seems as if London has hung up."

Nice reference to The Clash there, Pat.

Oh, it could easily be 2-0 to Swansea. Andre Ayew drives down the right and pulls the ball back for Alberto Paloschi but his placed shot from inside the box is blocked by Toby Alderweireld.

Swansea have been getting deeper and deeper since scoring. And Tottenham have been pushing more and more men forward. I think we may well be looking at attack v defence for the rest of this game.

"It's a thoroughly enjoyable game. Swansea are breaking sporadically, and causing a threat. Spurs are playing well, but they just can't get the ball into the net."

Swansea have a free-kick in Spurs territory. Gylfi Sigurdsson is over it. But his effort flies well over the bar. He is better than that, as most of the people in White Hart Lane are well aware.

Another chance goes begging for Spurs. This is probably the best of the lot. Son Heung-min is through with only Lukasz Fabianski to beat but he fails to do so as the keeper blocks his shot.

    Tottenham 0-1 Swansea

Dele Alli and the Spurs fans are screaming for a penalty. The midfielder drives past a few challenges before tumbling under a challenge from Ki Sung-yueng in the box. It was shoulder to shoulder and quite rightly not given. Harry Kane latches on to the loose ball but his low drive is saved by Lukasz Fabianski.

Christian Eriksen draws a good save from Lukasz Fabianski from a free-kick that he curls over the wall and towards the bottom corner before the Swansea keeper's interruption.
