    Tottenham 0-0 Swansea

Tottenham play a bit of keep-ball along their back-line. Harry Kane goes in pursuit of a long-ball forward and puts Lukasz Fabianski under a bit of pressure but the Swansea keeper clears.

And we are under way. Francesco Guidolin is still wrapped up like Ernest Shackleton on the Swansea bench.

Here come the teams, including Dele Alli, who is going to start the game for Spurs. One to keep an eye on in the early stages. Should they lose him to injury, it would be a blow you can file under big.

Swansea assistant manager Alan Curtis: "We didn't expect to find ourselves in this (league) situation but we're all aware of where we are.

"The Southampton game was disappointing but it's one defeat in five for us.

"We're all putting pressure on ourselves and we know we have to up our game considerably and get on another run."

I don't want to alarm Spurs fans but Dele Alli has been getting some attention from a physio during the warm-up. He looks to have pulled something while taking a shot. No news yet on whether this is going to end his afternoon before it has started. But I'll let you know if I hear anything in the next 10 minutes.

Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino: "It's true that maybe for the supporters the Premier League is more important [than the Europa League] but we need to show we respect both competitions.

"I think we have enough quality and a big enough squad that we can do both.

"Why prioritise one of them? We have ahead three important games in the Premier League, and then we will think about the next round of the Europa League."

"Tottenham have an exciting and young team – the win against Fiorentina will give them good confidence.

“Whenever the manager has changed the team it has not weakened it and that is very positive, one of their greatest strength. They changed eight players from the FA Cup side for the Europa league side and it was not to the detriment of team.

"There is a confidence around the group, strength in depth and there is a lot of quality too."

Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam: "If you look at Tottenham and Arsenal's past histories, Arsenal are always in the Champions League, Tottenham got that little taste under Redknapp but then it disappeared for a bit.

"If they get into the Champions League that will be a success but will Pochettino be there next season? That is the big question for Daniel Levy - can he keep hold of him?"

It must be pretty chilly at White Hart Lane. Thanks to a woolly hat and well-placed scarf, you can only see the eyes and nose of Francesco Guidolin as he watches his side warm up. You're not in Udine anymore Francesco.

Top-scorer Harry Kane is fit to start for Spurs after missing the 3-0 Europa League win over Fiorentina with a broken nose. Full-backs Kyle Walker and Danny Rose return to the starting XI, as does Son Heung-min, who replaces Ryan Mason.

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Rose, Alli, Dier, Lamela, Eriksen, Son, Kane.

Subs: Vorm, Davies, Trippier, Bentaleb, Chadli, Mason, Onomah.

Just one change for Swansea from the defeat to Southampton two weeks ago as Ki Sung-yueng comes in for Wayne Routledge.

Swansea XI: Fabianski, Rangel, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Britton, Cork, Ki, Sigurdsson, Ayew, Paloschi.

Subs: Nordfeldt, Naughton, Amat, Fer, Routledge, Barrow, Gomis.

The pressure Tottenham are under to get a win to fuel their title challenge is likely to be seen as something of a first-world problem for Swansea, who need a win themselves today, but for very different reasons.

The Swans are just three points above the relegation zone having not won in three in February. A defeat today would leave them even more vulnerable, with Newcastle having a game in hand.

And as any Premier League financial department knows, this is definitely not the season to be getting relegated from the top-flight.

Title-winning sides win games when it is absolutely required.

Yesterday, Leicester gave their own aspirations another shot in the arm by doing just that, at the death against Norwich.

Today, Tottenham have a chance to prove their own potential Premier League-winning worth.

A home game against Swansea might not immediately strike you as a huge fixture, but it could be a game that defines Spurs' season.
